CESC FABREGAS launched a furious rant at a rival boss after his side pulled off a huge win – insisting it is “respectful” to shake hands even in defeat.

The result handed Como three massive points in their push for a Champions League spot.

Roma had taken the lead during the first half after Donyell Malen converted from the penalty spot.

But Fabregas’ team hit back after the break to turn the game around in impressive fashion.

Former Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos scored a 79th minute winner that completed a comeback.

The victory leaves Como sitting fourth in the table after 29 matches.

They are one point ahead of Juventus and three clear of Roma with nine league games still to play.

But the drama did not end with the final whistle.

Fabregas revealed there had been tension between the benches following the game, criticising head coach Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma.

And the Spaniard did not hide his frustration when discussing what he believes should happen after matches.

He said: “I think it’s a good sporting move to greet the opposing coach.”

Fabregas added: “Even when you’re losing, you go and shake hands – I think it’s a show of respect.”

The former World Cup winner also praised his players for the comeback victory.

He said: “There are many games within a game. Everything can change in five minutes, as happened today.”

Fabregas added: “I’m happy with the team’s desire, mentality and performance. We raised the level and I’m pleased with that.”

Despite the massive result, the Como boss insisted his young squad must stay grounded.

He said: “We’re a very young team and there’s still a lot to learn.”

Fabregas concluded: “There are nine games left plus the cup. We must not get carried away – we just keep working and take it step by step.”
