THE Armed Forces would get a £1.6billion-a-year boost under the Tories’ latest plans.
They vow to bring back the two-child benefit cap, saving more than £3.2billion a year.


Half will go to defence, with the rest used to cut the deficit.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, said: “It’s more important than ever that the Government gives our military the backing it needs.
“Instead, Keir Starmer is pandering to his backbenchers with more welfare giveaways.”
It comes as the Iran conflict brings more calls intensify for greater defence investment.

Last month, the PM signalled the UK might go faster on military spending but there was nothing in the Spring Statement.
Britain’s defence spending is forecast to reach 2.5 per cent of GDP by next year, with no timetable for the Government’s three per cent target.
The Tories say their extra funds pays for 20,000 new troops, including 6,000 regular soldiers and 14,000 reservists.
They also propose a Sovereign Defence Fund aimed at attracting billions in investment.
And claim scrapping Labour’s Chagos Islands deal could free up £35billion.
