Ant McPartlin forks out £10million for vast new-build mansion as I’m A Celebrity star quits London for leafy Surrey

Ant McPartlin has declared: ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!’ as he quits his long-time London home for one of the UK’s most popular villages.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal the millionaire presenter has moved to leafy Surrey, buying a vast new-build mansion on an exclusive street for a record price of more than £10million. His purchase is costing him more than £1million in stamp duty alone.

McPartlin, 50, sold his luxury house in Wimbledon, south-west London, two months ago after a planning dispute with neighbours.

One local in the village, which the MoS is not naming, said: ‘Apparently, it is a record sale for the area and it’s all anyone is gossiping about. It is one of the prime private estates in an acre of grounds so he shouldn’t have trouble with the neighbours any more.’

And he won’t need to worry about the mortgage as he has just signed a £30 million golden handcuffs ITV deal with TV partner and best friend Declan Donnelly. Donnelly was also recently reported to be splashing out on property, snapping up his third house in the same London street.

McPartlin, who had his first child with second wife Anne-Marie Corbett, 47, just over 18 months ago, is sure to feel at home in the celebrity enclave.

Locals say the couple have been out with their son, Wilder. One said: ‘He looks very content and is always happy to say hello to people who recognise him but I don’t think he will be bothered too much around here as we are used to all the celebrities packing out the local hostelries.’

McPartlin sold his London home in the wake of the planning dispute – although he denied he was moving due to the row.

He backed down after locals accused him of wanting to cut down six large healthy trees in his garden on nothing but ‘a personal whim’. They complained after the local council granted him permission for his landscaping project despite a tree preservation order.

McPartlin bought that three-storey home for £6million in 2019, moving in with Anne-Marie after previously living next door to Donnelly in Chiswick, west London. The couple splashed out ‘hundreds of thousands’, adding two extensions and a swimming pool with Victorian-style changing rooms.

He bought that house after some rocky years when a painkiller addiction sparked by a botched knee operation and drinking problems nearly ended his career.

He spent two months in rehab in 2017, with another stay the following year when he crashed his car while more than twice the alcohol limit. Earlier in 2018, it was confirmed he had split from his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong.

He took months off from his TV career and has credited his former PA Anne-Marie, whom he married in 2021, with turning his life around.

McPartlin is stepfather to her teenage daughters Daisy and Poppy – but was overjoyed when he became a father for the first time in May 2024.
