ANDREW TATE was left battered and bruised and with blood pouring from his face after a gruelling loss in his controversial ring return.
The nefarious influencer, 39, returned in the main event of Misfits Mania in Dubai following a five-year lay-off – and was promptly battered by reality TV star Chase DeMoor.
Tate, 39, was welcomed back to the combat sports world by Misfits in a highly controversial move from the promotion.
Formerkickboxer Tate had promised to show DeMoor there are levels to the fight game and put him to sleep.
But Tate ended up being the one left licking his wounds as DeMoor retained his Misfits heavyweight title and left ‘Top G’ with a huge cut over his right eye and heavy bruising under both.
DeMoor, 29, was the much larger man in the ring and after a slow opening couple of rounds had little issue keeping the social media influencer at arm’s length.
The former Netflix Too Hot To Handle star won the fight 58-56 on two scorecareds, while the third judge ruled it a draw.
There was little skill on show but DeMoor was able to land the more meaningful shots, while Tate looked gassed as early as round three – with DeMoor constantly leaning on him and wrestling him.
After the loss, Tate said he was not disappointed in the loss because he took a tough fight against someone ten years older and 20kg heavier.
Andrew Tate – biography and controversies
The influencer makes his professional boxing debut this weekend
ANDREW TATE has become one of the world’s most notorious influencers after his rise to fame in the last decade.
The self-proclaimed misogynist, a former professional kickboxer, was born in the US before moving to Luton at a young age.
After retiring from pro sport, Tate first shot to prominence after a short spell on Big Brother in 2016 – he was removed from the house after rumours emerged that a video showed him purportedly hitting a woman with a belt.
Both he and the woman later said it was consensual.
He became popular for expressing vile misogynistic views on social media platforms, gaining an army of loyal followers, and for encouraging fans to ‘escape the Matrix’ – that of societal norms and financial restrictions.
Tate, also known by his aliases ‘Top G’ and ‘Cobra’, promotes a lifestyle of extreme toxic masculinity and misogyiny, while also showing off wealth and urging self-discipline to be successful.
In the past he has been banned from using several social media companies, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Twitter (now X) also banned him in 2017 but his account was reinstated in 2022 after Elon Musk purchased the platform.
Since 2022 Andrew and his brother Tristan have also been the subject of significant legal proceedings in Romania and the UK.
In Romania, they have faced charges of human trafficking and rape, amid claims young women were tricked into believing they were in romantic relationships and then forced to make pornographic content.
In a separate case in Romania, they are also alleged to have trafficked minors and are also charged with sexual intercourse with a minor and money laundering.
Romanian authorities have seized $4million (£2.98m) of assets from the Tate brothers and they remain under a travel restriction.
However, the case has currently been returned to prosecutors to fix certain legal flaws, specifically relating to the alleged rape of a minor, which the Tate brothers vehemently deny.
In the UK, one case against the Tate brothers has now been closed, relating to allegations of sexual assault and rape from 2013-15. The CPS decided against bringing criminal charges.
However, multiple charges remain open against the two brothers, including allegations of rape, human trafficking and tax evasion.
None of these charges will be heard until the cases in Romania are complete and the brothers can be extradited to the UK.
Andrew and Tristan Tate fully deny all charges against them.
He added he wanted a “real challenge” and not to fight “a tin can” but a match-up against the bigger, younger and more athletic DeMoor was always going to be a “big ask”.
He also hinted that he’ll permanently call time on his combat sports career due to Father Time catching up with him.
Tate’s last outing to the ring was a kickboxing match, which took place in Romania in December 2020.
He had scored a second-round TKO win over Cosmin Lugarar to stretch his kickboxing record to 76 wins, nine defeats and one draw.
But defeat to DeMoor leaves the British-born American with an 0-1 record in professional boxing.
Misfits’ decision to have Tate headline their final show of the year stunned casual and diehard fans of the promotion alike.
His clash with DeMoor, which took place at the Dubai Duty Tennis Stadium, was announced in late October.
It came with the news that KSI had been ousted from his role as CEO of Misfits Boxing.
Tate also declared that he was the new Chief Executive of the company.
