I’m sorry, bad guys. This is yet another rock star addition that complements the team Trump has already assembled.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced he was resigning last night to accept the position as Co-Deputy Director of the Bureau.
I am proud to announce I have accepted the role of Co-Deputy Director of the FBI.
I extend my thanks to @POTUS and @AGPamBondi for the opportunity to serve in the mission to Make America Safe Again.
I will protect America and uphold the Constitution. pic.twitter.com/hkMi2p1bXV

Bailey was first appointed to his post a short two years ago, taking over when then Missouri AG Eric Schmitt moved on to the Senate.
…Bailey was appointed in 2023 to fill a mid-term vacancy after the previous Missouri attorney general, Eric Schmitt, was elected to the U.S. Senate. He won a full term in November after defeating Trump White House staff secretary Will Scharf in the Republican primary.
He has been a tiger for the residents of his state.
In what was probably his most familiar case at the time, he released an in-depth report on St Louis Circuit Attorney (and Soros plant) Kim Gardner’s train wreck of an office, which exposed both her incompetence and her truly evil malfeasance.
2,735 cases dismissed by judges for failure to prosecute.
$351,500 in taxpayer money paid to an unlicensed attorney providing legal advice.
Countless violations of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
A resignation just hours before a judge was to order potentially damaging records be turned over and a deposition be scheduled.
All are among the findings in a 62-page report Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey released to the I-Team Monday. It summarizes what his office found within the tens of thousands of documents, interviews with almost 40 witnesses and investigation into St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner and her administration.
It was all part of a lawsuit he filed earlier this year to remove her from office.
People thought Gardner was bad, and Bailey proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt. His investigation forced Gardner into a panicked resignation as details of her corruption exploded into the public consciousness. I wrote about it then, having known only of her persecution of the McCloskeys for weapons violations when menaced by BLM marchers at the time. The execrable Gardner victimized everyone she came in contact with – from police officers to innocent victims of crimes themselves – and could be said to have transformed St Louis into a chaotic hellhole.
That’s not the only good deed Bailey’s managed for his constituents.
Proud to start this fight for our kids. This is another HUGE win upholding the ban of gender mutilation procedures on minors. pic.twitter.com/fLodhEL4eh

Andrew Bailey has also been a stalwart conservative crusader for the rest of the country at large against the overreach of the Biden administration, time and time again.
He was instrumental in gathering other states in class-action lawsuits against the Biden Green machine, forcing electric mandates on the trucking industry, and one of those first in the fight to boot trans athletes from women’s sports.
This is about restoring the integrity of women’s sports. I am fighting to return real champions to the pantheon where they belong. pic.twitter.com/vTCqfg8mTu

What his presence at the FBI is going to do is fill an experience gap in the hands-on aspect. Kash Patel and Dan Bongino are indomitable crusaders, but they need folks behind them of unquestioned integrity and like-minded who have the large-scale bureaucratic institutional experience they do not yet have.
That well-rounded team is coming together.
…This outcome and appointment make a lot of sense. Missouri AG Andrew Bailey helped expose the DHS manipulation of social media and has pushed the envelope against the Deep State/Lawfare attacks against Donald Trump.
Bailey has used the power of his office for good purposes and provided cautious optimism he could do the same at a federal level in the position. {GO DEEP}
Two weaknesses with the appointment of Kash Patel and Dan Bongino were that neither of them had large institutional leadership experience, and neither had organized long investigative processes within the legal system. The concerns therein were never about intent, but rather, their ability.
…Deputy U.S Attorney General Todd Blanche, United States Solicitor General D. John Sauer, and Dept of Justice Investigative Lead, Attorney Ed Martin, are very serious people within Main Justice. Deputy FBI Director Andrew Bailey will be an excellent addition overall.
DAG Blanche coordinates and prioritizes the day-to-day USAO office activity around the country. Blanche is the general in charge of eliminating Lawfare efforts. Solicitor General Sauer faces the Supreme Court. Sauer is the general in charge of framing the arguments from Blanche that reach the court. Meanwhile, DC USAO Martin, now with position changed to Presidential Appointment Martin in charge of investigating weaponized justice efforts, is the lead investigator on all enmeshed corruption within Washington DC.
To paraphrase Mr T, ‘I almost pity the fools.’
Almost.
Because with Ed Martin hard at work already (now safe as a presidential appointment), no-nonsense Todd Blanche in place, and Andrew Baily inbound, things are going to get much more uncomfortable than they already were for all the people most deserving of it.
You can tell the sweat is starting to drip because MNBC is wigging out in one of their waning day hysteria fits,
…The Times’ report noted in passing that Bailey has earned a reputation for making “bombastic” partisan attacks, which is true, although it understates matters.
The outgoing Missouri attorney general might not be a household name (at least, that is, not yet), but his record during a brief career in elected office is one of a hyperpartisan Republican activist.
When prosecutors in New York, for example, successfully held Trump accountable for his business crimes, Bailey tried to sue New York to prevent sentencing after the guilty verdicts. (The U.S. Supreme Court rejected the effort.)
This is the same far-right lawyer who wanted then-President Joe Biden to be criminally prosecuted for his student loan debt forgiveness policy. He also launched an investigation into Google, alleging that the tech giant was secretly conspiring to suppress conservative views, which dovetailed with a related investigation into AI chatbots that Bailey said were too anti-Trump.
Where does this leave Bongino, who was already reportedly unhappy earlier with aspects of being in the bureau and dealing with the Justice Department?
That’s going to be hard to say. It is true that a ‘co-deputy’ has never been a position before, but it’s also true that Bailey’s executive skillset complements Bongino’s agent experience.
It’s to everyone’s benefit if it works out amiably and professionally.
Andrew Bailey is one of the finest AGs this nation has to offer.
They honestly couldn’t have picked a better person to help out in the FBI.
