Amazon shoppers warned a free Prime delivery perk is ending in DAYS

A LONG-RUNNING Amazon Prime perk that saves loved ones heaps on shopping deliveries is coming to an end.

The Prime Invitee Program was a popular loophole that allowed people to share free delivery with friends and family who don’t live in the same household.

Amazon actually stopped allowing shoppers from joining the scheme a good 10 years ago.

But the firm let anyone who had already signed up continue to enjoy the perk for as long as they remained a Prime subscriber.

Sadly, that long-standing agreement is coming to an end next week.

Amazon warned users about the changes at the start of September.

And now the final date is looming close, with the Prime Invitee Program due to cease completely on Wednesday.

It means those who’ve had access to the scheme all this time will be banned from sharing free deliveries with those who live outside their household.

But they’ll still be able to share their Prime services with those in their household by using Amazon Family like everyone else.

As you would expect, those who have enjoyed the free bonus all this time are disappointed to see it go.

“This was the main reason I retained my Prime subscription,” one user wrote on Reddit.

“I was thinking of leaving, but was sharing with a brother and a close friend,” another commented.

“Now, I guess I’m free to quit. I bet there are lots of people in the same situation.”

In an email sent by Amazon to those affected, it said: “We are writing to inform you that the Prime Invitee Program, which allowed sharing Prime’s fast, free delivery with others, will end on October 1, 2025.

“Your invited guests will be notified directly about this change by September 5, 2025.

“We are excited to recommend Amazon Family as an alternative which enables you to share many Prime benefits with one adult and up to four children in your household at no additional cost.”
