IF you are looking forward to a break from the school run, or need to find a holiday club for your kids – here are all the English school holiday dates this year.
Students have returned to classrooms following their Christmas break, which saw schools close for two-weeks.

Students will now be in the classroom up until half term which starts Monday, 16 February and ends Friday, 20 February 2026.
The term will start again on Monday, 23 February 2026 when most students will be expected to return to their classrooms.
However, some school holidays may differ from school to school as they account for extra days or staff training.
Schools will next be out for Easter break which takes place between 30 March 2026 until 10 April 2026.
And although once again, exact days may differ depending on where you live in the country, all schools will be closed Friday, 3 April and Monday, 6 April 2026 as they are bank holidays.
Term starts on Monday, 13 April 2026 and the summer half term break is 25 May 2026 – 29 May 2026.
Summer break is from 23 July 2026 until 31 August 2026 but some schools such as Bedfordshire break up earlier on 20 July so please check your own area.
The dates reflect the days community and voluntary controlled schools are open to pupils. This provides the required 190 days.
Schools can choose when they take staff training days so please check with your school to confirm when these will take place.
Term dates may vary for all other types of schools (VA, Foundation or Academy), so please check the individual school website for details.
