Filler injections, Botox and even boob jobs were once the order of the day among the rich and famous hoping to prolong their youthful looks, prevent ageing and look their very best on the red carpet.
But as trends have changed now stars are seeking out more ‘au naturel’ looks – with many even reversing some of their surgeries and cosmetic procedures.
The likes of Chloe Ferry, Lauren Goodger, Victoria Beckham and Chantelle Connelly have all shared with their fans how they have or wish to reverse botched or old surgeries.
This week Chloe Ferry said she was left emotional seeing the results of her BBL being reversed after going under the knife.
So are the days of cosmetic surgery for the celebs truly over?

Chloe Ferry might have made a name for herself in recent years with her surgically enhanced derriere, but she’s now showing off her incredible frame after having her BBL removed earlier this year.
The Geordie Shore star, 29, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a video documenting how her figure had changed after getting the surgery reversed, proudly flaunting her more natural, but still curvy frame.
She first had her Brazilian Butt Lift surgery in 2017, but was left suffering from depression following the ‘botched’ procedure.
Breaking down in tears on her Instagram Stories, Chloe opened up on being in a ‘dark place’ at the time, after becoming caught in a cycle of repetitive plastic surgeries because of her insecurity over her looks.
She tearfully expressed she was ‘proud’ of herself for how far she’d come and declared that getting her BBL removed was ‘the best thing that I have ever done in my life’.
The video compilation saw the reality star first flaunting her surgically enhanced bottom and hips in a skintight bodysuit, before showing her lying in her hospital bed after having the controversial surgery reversed.

The following clips saw Chloe beaming in joy while donning bikinis and figure-hugging sportswear as she turned her back to the camera to display her new frame post-op and significantly reduced backside.
She wrote: ‘7 months post op for my BBL removal and what a journey it has been! It’s mad because on the videos when I had my BBL, you would’ve thought i was the most confident, outgoing person who loved myself and my body but the reality was I was very unhappy inside and out.’
The star believes that the trolling she endured in the public eye is what led to her spending a whopping £50,000 on surgeries after her ‘mental health and confidence’ took a hit.
She continued: ‘Looking back I don’t even recognise who I was as a person its actually really sad.
‘I have learnt a lot about myself being on this journey of self love but like I say, in life everything is a lesson even though I’m really disappointed for what I put myself through to look and feel perfect.
‘You just need to be happy within. And even though I’m not there yet, I know I’m on the way. Looking at this video just shows how I’ve come to get back to my old self and I am starting to feel a lot more confident and sexy within myself [sic].’
While in a much more candid and emotional video on her Stories, Chloe broke down in tears as she reflected on the ‘dark hole’ she’d been in, admitting she was ‘chasing something that I wasn’t.’
She explained how her confidence was destroyed after trolls targeted her looks when she came to fame on Geordie Shore in 2015, leading to her obsession with going under the knife.

She said: ‘People would’ve thought that I was a really confident girl and like I love myself and think I was the bee’s knees, but you’re so far away from the truth.
‘I was so unhappy with the way I looked and that’s why I constantly kept on getting surgery because I did not feel nice, because I was told that I was ugly from getting on TV at the age of 19.
‘I wanted to just chase this look that wasn’t even me. I wasn’t myself anymore. I didn’t feel pretty, I was broken inside. So when I looked at the videos and stuff it takes me back to how broken and how lost I was as that girl.’
She continued: ‘When you’ve been knocked down so many times at a young age it’s so hard to get yourself back. And I loved myself, when I first went on Geordie shore I didn’t give a f** what I looked like, I was confident.
‘But I just feel because I was tarnished so much about my looks I was knocked down. As a woman getting targeted on about your looks is so f***ing hard because it stays with you.
‘It’s so hard to gradually build that back up, but I know that I’m on the way. I’m so happy to be sitting here today and I can finally feel my spark coming back’.
As the emotions overwhelmed her, Chloe went on to say that she was ‘proud’ of herself and was starting to get ‘my spark back’.
She said: ‘But these are tears of happiness as well. I just feel so much better now, like the best thing that I have ever done in my life is getting my BBL removed. I just look more normal and more human.

‘I’m proud of myself because I’ve took myself out of that dark place, that dark hole that I was in and I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.
‘It’s been seven months since I had the operation and my close friends and family have said, ‘God we can see such a difference in you, we can see that your spark’s starting to come back.’
‘For long I was just in my head and I wasn’t listening to anyone because I had this end image of what I wanted to look like and I’m like, ‘what were you ever thinking?’ I was chasing something that I wasn’t.
‘And now I’m like sitting back and I’m starting to feel comfortable in my own skin. I’m not 100 per cent, but I’m starting to feel more confident and like myself.’
Chloe’s celebrity friends and fans were quick to praise her new look, with Sophie Kasaei gushing: ‘Amazing soul inside and out my girl.’;
Nathan Henry agreed, writing: ‘Sooooo proud of you my darling girlie love you.’
Others praised: ‘I honestly think it was the best decision to have it removed. You look so much better! Xx’; ‘Im so glad you got it removed! You are stunning without it … here’s to natural beauty [sic].’
Lauren Goodger
This year TOWIE star Lauren, 38, revealed her plans to reverse her Brazilian bum lift and breast implants after hating the size of them.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail in March, she shared: ‘I was terrified [of getting it done] which is what I’m working on, I’m working on that.
‘I’ve delayed it for a year now. I was meant to get the implants out and I want them out because that will transform me.
‘It’s not even about my weight, it’s more my boobs and bum. If I could get rid of them I’d feel and look so much better.’
She added: ‘I’ve got such a big bum and ginormous boobs, that I look so much bigger than I am because If you catch me at an angle I can look a lot bigger and if they were gone I’d look much more in proportion.
‘So I don’t really think it is all together my weight, it’s more because I need to get rid of the surgically enhanced assets which is my bum and boobs.

‘Lets hope I can do it this year because I will feel so much more comfortable.’
Lauren also admitted to The Sun that the surgery she has undergone has left her thinking her body looks ‘abnormal’.
She said she thinks her ‘massive boobs and bum’ have made her look bigger than she actually is and shared her plans to look like her old self again.
Lauren said: ‘I’ve ruined my looks with surgery – I hate my fake boobs and bum now. I feel like my body looks abnormal – I don’t need these massive boobs and massive bum.
She added: ‘When I look at myself naked in the mirror, all I see is lumps and bumps everywhere.’
In May, Lauren revealed she is having her ‘heavy’ breast implants removed and can’t wait to go back to a ‘natural look’.
She admitted her breasts were ‘perfect’ before although now they simply ‘make her look big’ while opening up about her breast-reduction journey on Instagram.
The reality star shared on her Instagram page a snap posing in a sheer dusty pink baby doll, showing off her very ample assets.

Lauren also admitted to The Sun that the surgery she has undergone has left her thinking her body looks ‘abnormal’
She wrote in the lengthy caption: ’11 years ago I had a breast augmentation, one of the things I regret later in life.
‘I had the perfect boobs .. they have been great over the years but since being a mum and breastfeeding for 1 year they have now changed and I’ve always found they make me look bigger!
‘Also they are heavy and I don’t like the idea of an implant being in me all these years and I miss my old boobs so much.. so after looking around I’ve found someone that I feel really keen with having my consultation with @marksolomos.
‘This is a HUGE step for me I’ve wanted to have them removed for so long but suffering with serve anxiety surgery is the last thing I can do !
Lauren finished: ‘So it’s early stages but I am bringing you a long with me!
‘I’m terrified but also for health reasons I’m having implants removed and bring back more to my normal self wanting to reverse everything back to natural.’
Chantelle Connelly
Back in 2016 Geordie Shore star Chantelle, 35, revealed her plans to reduce her 34E breasts to look ‘classier’.
Speaking to The Sun, the reality star confessed: ‘I’ve just got big t*ts that I want to look better.
‘I don’t follow the crowd. I’m not all about the big t*ts, I’d rather they look little and classier,’ she continued.
However she certainly hadn’t completely ditched the surgery as in 2018 she debuted the results from a bottom enhancement.

At the time she went topless as she posed in a bright orange thong while crediting her surgeons for ‘changing’ her life thanks to their handiwork.
Chantelle set pulses racing as she slipped her surgically-enhanced curves into a pair barely-there bottoms.
The television personality held onto her rich brunette locks while stood on a flight of stairs.
The reality star thanked her surgeons for her eye-popping look, writing: ‘Thank you @serenecosmetic_ & @dr._aslani for literally changing my life… You have given me all my confidence back!’
Victoria Beckham
Victoria, 51, reportedly had her first breast reduction procedure in 2009, taking them from an artificial 34DD to a slightly more natural 34B and appeared to have reverted back to the original 34A size she displayed as a Spice Girl in the 1990s back in 2013.
In 2014, she revealed that she had the implants removed thought it’s not exactly clear when it happened.
In 2023 she opened up about her past cosmetic procedures as she admitted she regretted her boob job.
The former Spice Girl previously denied that she had undergone plastic surgery after she suddenly transformed from her natural 34A to a 34DD overnight but came clean in 2017.

Speculation that she had gone under the knife to enhance her cleavage first began in the 1990s, before her biographer Andrew Morton revealed the star visited a London clinic for breast implants following the birth of her first son, Brooklyn, in 1999.
And speaking to Allure magazine in 2023, the mother-of-four admitted she regretted her implants, but still feels she cannot speak openly about them with her 14-year-old daughter Harper.
She said: ‘If I’m honest, I wish I’d never [gotten implants].
‘It was a moment in time, and I think I can share my experiences with her,’ before adding, ‘But we’re not there just yet.’
In 2014 Victoria discussed her fake boobs with the magazine as she confessed: ‘I don’t have them any more. I think I may have purchased them.’
According to her biographer, the initial enhancement surgery nearly 15 years ago set her back £10,000 and in 2001 it was reported she had a second operation to enlarge her bust size to 34DD.
The designer is said to have had her first boob job in 1999, followed by another in 2006, before finally getting them reduced in 2009 and telling US Vogue, ‘Torpedo bazookas, gone!’
Publicly, Victoria always denied going under the knife and in September 2001, she insisted her inflated look was down to tape and push-up bras.
In an interview with Piers Morgan for the BBC’s Tabloid Tales in April 2003, she said: ‘I’m completely natural, except for my fingernails and I have a bit of help with my hair and a bit of a St Tropez [fake tan] going on.’

She famously denied that she had undergone plastic surgery after she suddenly transformed from her natural 34A to a 34DD overnight but came clean in 2017

However, in 2005 the fashionista’s lawyers admitted that the denials were untrue and that she ‘had in fact undergone breast enhancement surgery’.
Victoria herself has also admitted to cringing at photos showing her inflated bust.
She once told an interviewer: ‘I’ve worn so many dresses in the past and when I see the photographs I think, crikey, my boobs are up round my neck again.’
Similarly in a resurfaced letter that the singer-turned designer penned to her younger self for British Vogue in 2017, she expresses regret at her decision, warning: ‘I should probably say, don’t mess with your boobs.’
‘All those years I denied it – stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you’ve got,’ she added.
In 2019 the star claimed she had never been ‘tempted’ by the lure of cosmetic procedures despite having previously admitted to enhancing her bosom.
In an interview on This Morning, she was asked if she has ever considered having work done.
Victoria replied: ‘I haven’t been tempted by a cosmetic procedure, but never say never.’
Molly-Mae Hague
The former Love Island star has previously admitted she didn’t recognise herself by the time she reached the age of 21, having had a variety of cosmetic procedures done.
In 2021, Molly-Mae underwent procedures to have her lip and jaw filler dissolved and her composite bonding veneers removed, saying at the time she was ‘terrified of myself’ when she looked at pictures.
She said on The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett podcast: ‘I wouldn’t say I got addicted to it, but by the age of 21, I didn’t look like the same person.
‘I literally looked like a different person. When I look back at pictures now, I’m terrified of myself. I’m like, ‘Who was that girl?’ I don’t know what happened.
‘But there was this one pivotal moment where I’d gone and got loads of filler and I posted a YouTube video and I hadn’t let the filler settle and it was really swollen and a screenshot from that video, it trended on Twitter for weeks.

‘It was horrendous. It was utterly horrendous. My face was literally like, it was just awful. That was the moment for me as well where I was like, I think things need to change.
‘I thought, one day I’m going to get my lips dissolved. It was a process. I went and got my lips dissolved and I posted about it on YouTube and I didn’t expect the response that I got. It was huge.’
The television personality – who is now back with boxer Tommy Fury after they split last year – now feels more comfortable in her own skin than she ever has done before, confessing she took her fillers to the ‘extreme’.
‘I literally took it to the extreme and I just stripped myself back and weirdly, I felt the prettiest I’d ever felt, once it had all gone.
‘I feel like I’d dropped about five years off my age and it was like, it was a really, really significant moment for me.
‘I didn’t realise how much respect that would get me. I didn’t do it for respect, I did it for myself. I didn’t do it for anyone else, I did it because I knew that I needed to.’
Faye Winter
Last year Love Island’s Faye thanked fans for their support after she spoke about regrets of using lip filler and Botox following the shock of seeing herself on the show.
The reality TV star, 30, appeared on This Morning alongside Dr Amiee Vyas to speak to then hosts Holly and Phil about getting her filler dissolved and the importance of getting treatments done by medical professionals.
Since the interview, she thanked her fanbase by posting directly to her followers on Instagram to share her gratitude for their kind words.
Faye also wrote a column for Grazia on the same topic, where she described how she felt so self-conscious that she didn’t know if she could do Love Island at all.
She explained how the Botox she got done three months before the promo shoots for the show left her with droopy eyelids and such a ‘pressure’ in her forehead that made her feel like she was ‘constantly frowning’.

‘This was all happening when I was doing my promo shots for Love Island and I remember feeling very self-conscious about how I looked,’ Faye said.
‘I went to my last audition with my face taped up. I cried every time I looked in the mirror, and I didn’t actually know if I was going to be able to do the show because of how horrendous I felt.
‘That was the moment I said I am never going to somebody who is not medically trained. I’ve learned that they want the best for you. If somebody says, ‘no’, take their advice.’
During another interview on This Morning, Faye admitted her mum and dad had said her inflated pout made her look ‘silly’ before she made the changes.
She explained: ‘4½ ml is the most I had when I went into Love Island. I didn’t see it as a problem. I thought my lips looked great until I came out and saw myself from a different perspective.
‘I saw it like that for the first time rather than just looking in the mirror. My mum and dad told me they look a bit big and silly.’
Aubrey O’Day
The 41-year-old singer recently opened up about scaling back her look and why she chose to reverse some of the work she’s had done over the years.
‘I got lip fillers that were invading my face and I thought they looked good until they took them away and I got to see that I was trippin,’ she told ET.
She went on, ‘I’m so happy those lips are off my face cause when I see photos with the lip injections, I’m disgusted.’
‘I thought I was killing it… and I was not ever killing it with those big, giant… when people would say ‘duck lips,’ I’d be like, ‘They’re just jealous,’ … oh no, they were trying to tell me.’
She continued, ‘Some people aren’t haters, some people are really trying to guide you better. And I was looking in the mirror, and I thought it looked good.’

‘I was just keeping up with the Joneses and it was just taking over my face. I didn’t even look young,’ O’Day stressed.
‘You can really look much younger if you get rid of that stuff.’
O’Day said she began learning more about the realities of cosmetic procedures after appearing on E!’s Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind, where she started dialing things back and undoing work she no longer felt served her.
But she hasn’t sworn off surgery altogether.
Concerned about sagging breasts, the singer opted for a breast lift in January—and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
‘Now these things are just sitting. No bra, no tape, no nothing. They’re just up. They’re back like my 21-year-old titties, and I love it,’ she said.
‘So I would tell everybody that surgery was great, I’ll tell you the surgeon. They look amazing. Very, very minimal scars,’ she continued.
‘I’m so happy that my boobs are finally back where they deserve to be after all the work I’ve done in my life.’
O’Day said the experience on the show taught her a lot—both about herself and what she was capable of handling.
‘I learned so much,’ she added, noting that she also formed ‘real’ lifelong friendships during her time filming the show.
Heidi Montag
Heidi Montag, who rose to fame at the age of 19 after appearing on the MTV’s The Hills, previously claimed to be ‘beyond obsessed’ with plastic surgery.
The reality star recalled hitting rock bottom after she infamously had ten plastic surgeries in one day.
In 2009, Heidi had a chin reduction, brow lift, a second nose job, her ears pinned back and a second breast augmentation, among other surgeries, under the supervision of Dr. Frank Ryan.
And, complications from the intensive surgery almost killed her, as she recalled to PAPER magazine that she ‘died for a minute’ on the operating table after her heart stopped.

In 2013, she underwent breast reduction surgery to remove her size F breast implants to opt for a more natural look (pictured without her F sized implants in 2019)
At the time of the interview, Heidi added that ‘cutting yourself up’ is not something she’d recommend. After the life-threatening incident, she found herself at ‘rock bottom’ and had to re-evaluate what was important to her.
In 2013, she underwent breast reduction surgery to remove her size F breast implants.
‘They were so heavy they were falling through the skin,’ she says. ‘It was just too heavy for my body and I was in pain and uncomfortable all the time. I thought, ‘What do I need this big of breasts for?”
In 2019, she revealed that she regrets the drastic procedures, and wishes she had waited until she was older before making such ‘life-changing’ decisions.
‘I was just really self-involved at the time – like so many young people – but I was also on TV where every perceived flaw is amplified. I think I looked in the mirror a little too much,’ she told Cosmopolitan.
