The 26-year-old plays football for Como after leaving Juventus this summer.

And Lehmann will now have a big responsibility as the Winter Games prepare to come to Italy in a couple of months’ time.

The Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in February and Lehmann will be based nearby after joining Como in northern Italy.

Tournament officials announced Lehman as “the forward who will lead the way” as they revealed their torchbearers.

The torch will reach Italy on December 5 when it arrives in the capital of Rome.

It will then travel across the country before arriving in Milan on February 4.

Lehmann’s news comes weeks after she was the victim of a burglary as her home near Lake Como was ransacked.

She was out at the time of the raid but returned home to find clothes on the floor after her cupboards and wardrobes were rummaged through.

Lehmann decided to poke fun at herself after the worrying incident as she claimed she had ‘OCD’ over the mess the robbers left.

Alongside a video posted on Instagram showing the scene they left behind, she wrote: “Next time you rob my house, please clean it up [be]cause I’ve got OCD,” along with crying emojis.

Lehmann has been enjoying single life following her split from ex-Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz.

She has been seen soaking up the sun on glamorous holidays while also revelling in the Oktoberfest festivities.
