ALEXANDER ISAK has undergone surgery after breaking his leg against Tottenham.
The Liverpool record signing hurt himself while scoring the go-ahead goal in North London.
Isak, 26, was taken off the pitch and was unable to continue in the match for the Reds.
The club have now confirmed that he has had a successful operation on the injury.
It was revealed that work was done on an ankle injury and a fracture in his fibula – the slender outer bone in the lower leg.
However, it has been stressed that there is currently no timeline for when the striker could return to action.
A statement read: “Alexander Isak today successfully underwent surgery on the injury he sustained on Saturday.
“The Liverpool striker was injured in a challenge in the process of scoring the opening goal against Tottenham Hotspur and had to be substituted.
“After diagnosis, an operation was completed today on an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture.
“Isak’s rehabilitation will now continue at the AXA Training Centre, with no timeframe yet placed on his return.”

Despite there being no return date booked in for Isak it is thought that he will play again THIS season.
Isak buried his chance, which was set up by Florian Wirtz as Liverpool took the lead against the ten men of Spurs.
Hugo Ekitike continued his good form and scored 2-0 with his head before Richalison netted a consolation for the hosts late on.
Isak joined Liverpool in the summer in a sensational £130million transfer from Newcastle United.
He has struggled to replicate his form from St James’ Park at Anfield and had only scored twice in ten Prem outings.
Slot will now likely be without Isak for a substantial amount of time and will not be able to count on him for some important games.
The Reds face title rivals Arsenal on January 8 before their last two Champions League league phase games against Marseille and Qarabag.
Isak’s injury could force the club back into the transfer market with the winter window set to open in January.
The club have been linked with FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju by German media.
However, the forward has also been tipped with interest from Bayern Munich and Everton.
Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo could also be an option with the forward having a £65m release clause become active on January 1.
