Aldi brings back Greggs festive dupe and it’s a THIRD of the price

ALDI has brought back a Greggs dupe that’s popular during the festive season.

And here’s the best part – it’s a third of the price.

The discount supermarket is selling a pack of two Festive Bakes for just £1.39, or 70p each.

They’re similar to the Greggs Festive Bakes, which cost £2.10.

The Greggs version returned to stores earlier this month.

The bake is part of the chain’s Christmas menu and it’s popular with shoppers.

Greggs launches new type of store as bakery chain expands across UK

It’s filled with pieces of chicken, bacon and sage and onion, and covered in a creamy sage & cranberry sauce.

Shoppers may not have been too pleased to discover the Festive Bake has increased in price by 10p this year.

So if you want a cheaper version, you can try the Aldi ones.

The savoury snacks can be baked from frozen and you can have them from the comfort of your home.

Of course, the drawback is that you’ll need to wait 27 minutes for them to bake – but then you’ll be able to eat them fresh out of the oven.

The Aldi version is described as “chicken, Beechwood smoked bacon and juicy cranberries in a creamy sage and onion sauce wrapped in flakey golden puff pastry with a crunchy parsley breadcrumb topping”.

When the bakes returned to Aldi shelves last year, shoppers were delighted.

“If you see these clear the shelf,” one person said.

Another added: “They are just as delicious as usual too!!”

What else is on the Greggs Christmas menu?

If you still fancy a trip to Greggs, you’ll find the Christmas menu on shelves now.

The Vegan Lattice is replacing last year’s Vegan Festive Bake, and also costs £2.10.

The savoury treat will feature Quorn pieces, sage & onion stuffing balls, vegan bacon, and cranberry and red onion sauce encased in vegan puff pastry.

Also on the menu is what Greggs calls the “king of festive sandwiches”: the Hot Christmas Lunch Baguette (£3.95).

Described as Christmas dinner on-the-go, it includes chicken, sage & onion stuffing, sweetcure bacon, melted Cheddar, cranberry relish, and is topped with onion gravy.

Greggs is also launching a Chicken Tandoori Pizza Slice, topped with tandoori style chicken mayonnaise and red onion (£2.50).

For a healthier option, you can opt for the Hot Festive Flatbread (£3.65), which is also returning this year.

Plus there is also a range of sweet options hitting stores, including the Christmas Cake Slice, Chocolate and Hazelnut Doughnut, and Christmas Mini Caramel Shortbreads.

A new sweet treat is also hitting stores in November – the Gingerbread Muffin (£1.55).

It will replace the Toffee Fudge Muffin from last year’s Christmas menu, which was £1.50.

Greggs is also adding a range of festive drinks to its latest line-up.

You could treat yourself to a Mint Mocha or Mint Hot Chocolate from next month.
