Alan Carr trades Celebrity Traitors castle for his own chateau in new show

AFTER winning the celebrity version of The Traitors last year, Alan Carr is in the market for his own abode similar to the show’s famous castle.

In a brand new TV show, the comedian, 49, is heading back to Scotland to find himself a chateau inspired by the iconic abode.

The series, which will air on Disney+, is called Castle Man – a play on his Chatty Man brand – and is set to follow Alan in his search for a new home.

With the comedian’s 50th birthday fast approaching this June, he’s using the milestone to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a grand château.

Alan said of the venture: “Most people, when they have a midlife crisis, get a Lamborghini – but me? I want my very own castle.

“Since I was a boy in Northampton, I’ve always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn fifty, I feel it’s my time.

THE TRUTH

“All I want is a turret to call my own – get me over that drawbridge!”

Last year, Alan spent almost a month at Scotland’s stunning Ardross Castle the 19th-century Scottish Baronial estate where The Traitors is filmed.

And with Alan winning the show as a traitor in an epic finale, he even got to spend time in the famous turret – which certainly inspired this new search.

The series is currently filming in Scotland, with a release date yet to be confirmed.

Ben Wicks, Creative Director, Entertainment and executive producer, Expectation adds, “What an incredible project: Alan Carr looking to buy a castle befitting his status as comedy royalty and a national treasure, and soon finding himself responsible for the very real, right royal pain of making it all work.

“We’re delighted to be following Alan’s dramatic – and undoubtedly hilarious – journey and doing so with Disney who thankfully have a great deal more history with castles.”

It’s unlikely that Alan will be opposed to a home that needs a little TLC, with the comedian often renovating properties on his several TV shows with Amanda Holden; Amanda and Alan’s Greek Job.

The duo have also filmed Spanish and Italian versions of the show, which sees them buy and transform properties abroad.

Born in Weymouth and growing up in Northampton, Alan is now thought to live in the Kent area.

But with a potential castle purchase on the horizon, he might be swapping city life for a dose of countryside full time.
