‘Ain’t got nothing’ – Chelsea ace Wesley Fofana speaks out after limping off at Aston Villa in worrying injury scenes

WESLEY FOFANA has put any injury worries to bed after limping off in Chelsea’s win over Aston Villa.

The Frenchman, 25, started the 4-1 win at Villa Park but looked to be moving gingerly when he was brought off by Liam Rosenior in the 79th minute on Wednesday.

Sparking more concern among the Blues faithful was the sight of Fofana trudging straight down the tunnel.

But the former Leicester defender took matters into his own hands when rumours about a new injury problem started circulating after the game.

On one X post which said he “seems to have gotten injured”, Fofana replied in French: “Hey, I ain’t got nothin’ at all”.

He also responded to a similar post in English, saying: “Huh? I have nothing.”

A fresh Fofana injury setback would have been sickening for Chelsea.

The once-capped French international has been battling obstacles ever since he broke his leg at Leicester in 2021.

That kept Fofana sidelined for over seven months but did not sway Chelsea away from paying £70million for him the following year.

And once he landed at Stamford Bridge, the injury woes got even worse.

An ACL tear in 2023 kept Fofana out for a full year, and his return was swiftly followed by two further three-month spells in the treatment room.

The 17 Premier League appearances Fofana has managed this campaign is his biggest single-season tally in a Chelsea shirt.

And boss Rosenior will be keen to retain him as a defensive option down the home stretch.

The Blues are fifth in the Prem, which should be enough to seal a Champions League spot, but sixth-place Liverpool are only behind on goal difference.
