A FORMER porn star has been accused of decapitating her lover turned father-in-law after starting an affair with her stepson.
Accused killer Devyn Michaels was arrested after Jonathan Willette, 46, was found decapitated and smouldering from chemical burns in his Las Vegas home in 2023.
The corpse had been “defiled” with bleach and ammonia that left the wound from his severed head smoking, according to Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney John Giordani.
His head has never been found.
Michaels and Willette were said to be in an on-and-off relationship and shared two young daughters.
In an unusual family situation, Michaels was married to Willette’s adult son from a previous relationship, making them in-law lovers.
The adult actress, who also goes by Nikki Fairchild and Tracee Taverz, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last fall.
She entered a plea deal in which she would serve 15 years in prison with the possibility of parole.
But her sentencing in July this year took a twisted turn after she came to the hearing with a bizarre new story.
After prosecutors summarised her plea, Michaels addressed the court to say that she was actually innocent.
She is now facing a trial for murder in the first degree.
Prosecutors in the trial, which kicked off this week, made jaw-dropping claims about what led to the death of Willette.
Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney John Giordani claimed Michaels killed his own lover turned father-in-law because she wanted to raise her children with his son, Deviere Willette, 29.
While Michaels and Willette were never married, the former pornstar married Deviere in 2021.
She told cops she married Willette’s son so he could help with her medical issues and lived with him, ABC affiliate KTNV reported in 2023.
Michaels and Willette were in the process of moving back in with each other for their children when he was killed, family members told investigators.
But Giordani claimed this was far from an ideal situation for Michaels.
Referencing a photo of Michaels, Deviere and her children, Giordani said: “This is the future that she saw and that she wanted, and the only way to have that future was with John out of the picture.”
Michaels previously accused Willette of being abusive toward her and said that he would shower in front of their oldest daughter when she was quizzed by cops about his death.
She took a polygraph test and and got a strong reaction when she was asked pointed questions about whether she was involved with his murder, an arrest report states.
When asked to explain the reading, Michaels said that she struck Willette in the back of the head with a wooden spoon the night of his death because he tried to get her to do something sexual.
She told detectives that she didn’t want to kill her lover and “only wanted to hurt him enough that he would have to go to the hospital because she wanted him out of the way so she could figure out what she could do with her children.”
Cops believe Willette’s head was thrown into the garbage and taken to a dump.
Michaels went on an emotional tirade in the Las Vegas, Nevada, courtroom right before her sentencing in July.
She said: “I know right now no one in the family feels that I am innocent at any point and I understand that, but I can actually prove my innocence.
“I actually can. And I am not going to stop fighting to prove my innocence.”
Michaels went on to say that her ex-lover deserves to have the person who is “actually guilty” behind bars.
“I was helping Johnathan. I can show that I was trying to help him,” she said.”
The trial continues.
