ADAM Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s wedding has been compared to a ‘hospital appointment’ as a guest complains about an unusual detail.
The Olympic swimming champ, 31, and TV chef Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, 25, tied the knot in front of more than 200 friends and her family at Bath Abbey, Somerset.
Among the A-list guests at the nuptials were Ramsay family friends Sir David Beckham and wife Victoria, plus their sons Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper.
Other celebrities included TV presenter Dan Walker and Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies.
With that amount of A=Listers, security was tight and guests wore wristbands embossed with H&A.
One guest said: “It was a lovely day, but with the wristband it felt more like a hospital appointment.”
Guests were also barred from taking snaps of the service.
But the wedding descended into chaos when Holly first arrived with her dad, Gordon, as they made their way into the Abbey.
A source told HelloMagazine: “Holly’s wedding descended into chaos this afternoon as photographers and security clashed just as the bride was entering the church.
“As the world’s press assembled in an orderly fashion in a pen at the front of the church, four rogue photographers ran from a back door where the Beckhams had recently arrived as Holly and Gordon pulled up to the side of the church in their car.”
“Eight security guards formed a barrier around Gordon and Holly as they left the car and walked around the side of the church to the main front door.
“The paps who had been on the back door sprinted around to try and catch up with them at the front door of the church, and they came to blows in a narrow alleyway at the side of the church just yards from 100s of members of the public who had been waiting for the church service to begin.
“They were extraordinary scenes when the security bodyguards and the paparazzi photographers clashed and scuffled as the crowd surrounding them scattered.”
Holly beamed despite the commotion while Gordon waved and said to the crowds gathered outside the Abbey: “Merry Christmas!”
Holly arrived nearly 30 minutes late, wearing a bridal cape over her Christmas-themed dress.
The maids of honour wore dresses designed by Victoria in red, while mother of the bride Tana wore a similar style dress in green.
Following the ceremony, guests were spotted departing the Abbey including bridesmaid Bethany Peaty, Adam’s sister.
Adam had decided to bar his relatives, other than Bethany and her partner, because of a family feud that is thought to have begun when mum Caroline was not invited to Holly’s hen-do.
She had intended to watch the lavish ceremony unfold from the street, but we exclusively revealed she had a last minute change of heart after her husband Mark convinced her it would be “too upsetting”.
A family source told The Sun on Sunday: “Frankly, it’s disgusting that it went ahead without Adam reaching out to his mum and dad beforehand.”
The family were left even more distraught amid claims dad Mark was told by the swimmer’s sister Beth before Christmas he could attend, but had to sit at the back.
Our source said: “It was a difficult day for Caroline and Mark, so the family spent the evening together.
“Caroline got upset as soon as she saw the photographs from the wedding.
“For him to turn around and tell Beth that his dad could come and sit at the back of the church is awful.
“Mark was told he could sit behind plus-ones — who Adam has probably never even seen or spoken to.”
The star’s swimming coach Melanie Marshall stepped in to deliver a reception speech, in place of his brothers.
