THERE was chaos at Plumpton on Monday as a chequered flag drama saw almost half the runners in a race stop in total confusion.
A number of hurdles were dolled off due to low light in the 1.20pm contest for amateur jockeys.

It is believed the flags were being flown to alert jockeys to race round the hurdles.
But some, it appeared, took that as a sign the race was to be stopped.
What it meant was four horses were pulled up for, really, no reason at all.
Commentator Simon Holt described the scenes as ‘farcical’.
