
THE A1M is closed in one direction due to a serious police incident with drivers warned of severe delays.
The motorway in West Yorkshire is shut northbound between Junction 40 and Junction 41 with emergency services at the scene.

National Highways said West Yorkshire Police are carrying out investigations following a serious incident shortly after 00:30 this morning.
Traffic Officers and service providers are also at the scene assisting with traffic management, they added.
A spokesperson said: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time.
“Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
Diversion:
Road users travelling northbound are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on road signs:
- Exit the A1M using the Darrington off-slip and then take the exit slip road for the M62.
- Take the 1st exit and join the M62 westbound.
- Travel along the M62 and exit at J32A and follow signs to rejoin the A1M northbound.
