He added: ‘We like to be in a colder place. We don’t like to be in Los Angeles for Christmas.
‘We always talk about the possibility of moving to New York or London. Those are two cities that we would definitely consider living in. We love walking cities.’
Earlier this year, John revealed that he and wife Chrissy were considering making a permanent move out of Los Angeles following the devastating wildfires.
The Eaton and Palisades Fires, which sparked on January 7, destroyed nearly 17,000 structures and killing at least 29 people.
The couple were among the A-list residents forced to flee their home, taking shelter in a luxury hotel along with their four children.
Fortunately, their $17.5 million Beverly Hills home was not damaged by the blaze.
However, the musician admitted that there is now a ‘collective trauma’ in the area that has made the couple seriously consider relocating to New York.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, John explained: ‘Chrissy and I have always considered returning to New York, where we once lived. We probably will, once our youngest ones grow up a bit.’

Earlier this year, John revealed that he and wife Chrissy were considering making a permanent move out of Los Angeles following the devastating wildfires.
Reflecting on the impact of natural disasters in the area over recent years, Legend continued: ‘Every time nature shows its wrath, we wonder if it’s time to head back east. Who knows?’
The couple and their children had only just returned home from a vacation on January 7, with the Palisades Fire starting to ravage the city just hours later.
In the interview, the singer recalled seeing the flames and billowing smoke from the Palisades fire and noted how their ‘fears grew’ after watching the devastation on TV.
‘When the Sunset fire began to expand on January 9, the danger felt too close for comfort,’ he continued.
‘That night, my wife and I gathered our four kids, four dogs and bearded dragon and drove south to a hotel in Carlsbad.’
At the time, Chrissy has shared photos of her and John sheltering in the room, and also highlighted that their pets were with them too when she posted clips featuring bearded dragon Sebastian.
John added: ‘We didn’t return until the following week. Our home was safe, but many weren’t so fortunate, and the threat still looms.
‘The fires were a collective trauma that shook everyone, including our kids.’
The move would be a U-turn for the couple after they chose to sell their Manhattan units in 2022.
Located in the Nolita neighborhood, their two penthouses were sold for $18 million.
The couple bought the first penthouse unit for $9 million in 2018 and the second in 2020 for $7.7 million, according to property records.
