The Dinky Toy collection has recently sold for an eye-watering £87,520 at the Simply Dinky Auction.
One of the items even fetched a world record price going under the hammer for £2,570 which is rare for this particular model.
According to experts at Vectic Auctions, a Dinky Toys 101 “Thunderbirds” Thunderbird 2 has never sold for this price before.
On June 3, the highest bidders took home a number of pre and post-war models from the Dinky collection.
The Hawk Harrier and Spitfire aircraft miniatures attracted high bids, while a typical rear-loading Dinky Toys glass cabinet sold for £1,041.
An Eagle Freighter from Space 1999 brought in £490, while the Dinky Toys “Fun Ahoy” set brought in £710.
Pre-war coaches and buses were constantly attracting the highest bidders.
Another noteworthy piece was a rare French Dinky pre-war 21 Train set with box which was auctioned for £3,185.
A Vectis Auctions spokesperson said: “This Simply Dinky Auction once again proved that quality, rarity, and condition continue to drive exceptional results in the collector’s market.”
It comes as six popular 90s toys have been revealed to be worth up to £40,000 this year.
