LONDON could be a huge step closer to hosting WrestleMania.

The WWE‘s main event has never moved outside North America.

But Wrestlenomics claim the extravaganza will move away from New Orleans.

And wrestling fans across the UK have gone wild with excitement at the possibility of a switch across the pond.

WWE enthusiasts are already at fever pitch – after a cryptic post from John Cena suggested the legend might NOT retire this year.

The undisputed champ and Hollywood star shared a Leonardo DiCaprio picture from The Wolf of Wall Street on Instagram – showing the movie’s famous “I’m not leaving” scene.

And there’s even talk he could peak his feud with The Rock by taking on his biggest rival.

SunSport revealed earlier this month that London was ready to hold WrestleMania within the next decade.

It’s been held every March or April since 1985, with the top performers from RAW and SmackDown on stage in front of millions.

Most of the greatest names ever in wrestling have taken part – like Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, The Undertaker, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

WrestleMania 42 was in Las Vegas last month, attracting 125,000 fans to the Allegiant Stadium.

Caesars Superdome in New Orleans is booked for April 11-12 next year.

Indianapolis has also been lined up to host it at some point too.

But as speculation grows that London might have a future role, British fans are drooling.

One posted: “If Wrestlemania comes to London I will do laps around my house bro.”

Another WWE follower’s response to that was “After your laps you’re gonna have to sell your house to afford the tickets.”

But the first fan replied: “I will sell my KIDNEYS.”

Another enthusiast wrote: “WrestleMania needs to be in the UK, I’d love that.”

Fans were sceptical if Wembley could fit in the dates at spring is such a busy time for sport, including the FA Cup semi-finals.

Others reckoned Cardiff or across the channel in Paris would be tempting alternatives to London.
