Bruce Springsteen and Stephen Graham spotted breaking for lunch in leafy Yorkshire village

Workers at a small neighbourhood restaurant, staff are no doubt used to seeing familiar faces.

But two of the diners at Norman’s in Kirkburton on Friday lunchtime were a little more instantly recognisable than most.

Enjoying a meal in the West Yorkshire village were Bruce Springsteen and Stephen Graham, who plays The Boss’s father in the movie Deliver Me From Nowhere.

The 75-year-old singer, who is in the middle of a UK tour, had been so impressed with Graham’s ‘amazing’ portrayal of Douglas ‘Dutch‘ Springsteen that he was keen to strike up a friendship with the 51-year-old Liverpudlian actor.

Staff at Norman’s – which is a draw for foodies with its small plates menu – were left starstruck when Graham’s agent called to make the booking, initially for 5pm.

But had then switched to 1pm owing to an evening engagement for Springsteen, who performed last night at Manchester’s Co-Op Live.

The pair enjoyed tasting most of the menu, which offers dishes such as Saddleback pork chop and sweet glazed beef featherblade with horseradish butter.

After their meal, the two men were invited to the kitchen where they posed for pictures with staff.

Owner Ollie Roberts told The Mail on Sunday: ‘The staff were useless after they left, because everyone was just kind of floating around in a half-daze.

‘Stephen Graham was the one everyone was excited about, but I think that’s largely because, how do you get your head around Bruce Springsteen coming for lunch?’
