Maldives hotel named one of the best in the world has floating waterpark, jungle go-karting and unlimited champagne

A MALDIVES hotel has been named one of the best in the world by Tripadvisor.

Siyam World is located in the Maldives‘ rich and natural landscape offering ‘never-seen-before’ experiences, according to its website.

The resort has been designed for “fun-loving, open minded couples, romance seekers, families or larger groups of friends” with the opportunity to explore and roam the island community.

Siyam World is one of the largest islands in the Maldives to boast a resort, with a variety of one-to-four bedroom villas, pavilions and residences that span from 80 to 3,000 square metres.

In total, the resort has four kilometres of sandy beaches and six kilometres of reef.

The resort features a number of water villas, which each include their own pool and slide straight into the ocean.

In addition, these villas have their own private sundeck with loungers, mini bar, bathroom and Wi-Fi.

The resort also has its own horse ranch, for riding along the coast at either sunrise or sunset.

The ranch is home to mares and stallions, as well as ponies.

At Siyam Water World, the Maldives’ biggest floating waterpark, visitors can enjoy lots of obstacles, water trampolines, climbing walls and rafts.

Perhaps one of the most unique elements of the resort is the sporty jet car, which zips through the waters.

Alternatively, visitors can jump into The Seabreacher, which is a semisubmersible vessel that can jump over, dive under and turn left and right through the waves.

Facilities wise there is a ‘Kidz World’, which offers a range of family programmes with learning and mindfulness.

At the onsite spa, guests can experience the lush tropical vegetation whilst experiencing hydro facilities and Himeyn Bageecha – a self-service healthy bar.

The resort is all-inclusive, with a wide range of dining options and drinks, including more than 90 different wines.

Different cuisines on offer include Spanish, Japanese, Indian and Thai.

The resort also has a contemporary Maldivian restaurant called The Wahoo Grill and a 24-hour sports bar called KulhiVaru.

The Sun’s head of travel, Lisa Minot, weighs in on Siyam World

IT’S no surprise to me that Siyam World has been named one of the best hotels in the world.

My visit to the idyllic Maldivian island last year blew all of my preconceptions out of the azure blue waters.

Yes, of course there are four kilometres of gorgeous powder white sands and six kilometres of house reef teeming with manta rays, reef sharks and tropical fish.

Yes, there are romantic over-water villas with their own private pools.

But what I wasn’t expecting was the jungle go-karting track, the aquatic jet cars, the international size football field with visiting sporting legends like Rio Ferdinand offering coaching tips and even an expansive horse ranch.

Siyam World is one of the largest resort islands in the Maldives and unlike many of its neighbouring islands, is totally all-inclusive.

Dine at one of 11 restaurants serving up everything from Maldivian, Japanese and Thai treats to Indian, Spanish and Italian dishes.

There’s unlimited champagne and premium spirits at the island’s seven bars – as well as a mini bar filled with beers, wine and snacks in your room.

Even the accommodation options are dizzying – with one to four-bedroom water and beach villas plus luxury residences.

And it ranks as one of the most family-friendly tropical paradise islands I have ever seen with oodles of fun for the little ones as well as their own children’s clubs.

But what stood out more than all that was the wonderful Maldivian welcome from the resort’s super friendly staff who always seem to go the extra mile.

To get from the UK to Siyam World, you’ll typically fly into Velana International Airport in Male, the main international airport in the Maldives.

Direct flights to Velana Airport are available from London Heathrow, with British Airways and the flight time is just over 10 hours.

Once at Valena Airport, travellers usually board a seaplane or get domestic flight and speedboat transfer to the resort, both lasting less than an hour.

Also in the Maldives is an ‘ultra-all-inclusive’ holiday resort, with a beachfront villa, free massages and unlimited booze.

Plus, The Sun’s Veronica Lorraine went on a child-friendly holiday to the Maldives – with manta ray feeding, kid discos and beachfront restaurants.
