Manhunt launched after girl, 13, ‘raped in woodland’: Police say attacker was ‘seen at McDonald’s’

Police are searching for a teenage boy after a 13-year-old reported she was raped near a local nature reserve’s visitor centre.

The attack happened on Tuesday at around 7pm in Telford Town Park, Shropshire, in a wooded area.

The boy is described by police as white, around 15 to 18 years old, of average build, clean shaven with short dark hair. 

He was said to be wearing a hooded black puffer coat, a grey zip-up hoodie, matching joggers, and black trainers with white on the sole. 

It is believed the boy was seen at a McDonalds in Telford in the hour before the attack.

The girl is being supported by specialised trained officers as the force investigate the incident.

Detective Inspector Paul Drury from Telford CID said: ‘We understand how worrying this incident will be for the local community, and I want to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to identify the person responsible.

‘We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or was in McDonalds in Telford from 6pm to 6.30pm.
