The 81-year-old music legend commanded attention — and space — as she ascended the Metropolitan Museum of Art staircase in a dramatic white look, blocking other guests from walking alongside her.
She hit fashion’s biggest night in a low-cut, floor-length, crystal-covered gown topped by a larger-than-life white cape with feather trim.
The iconic signer’s arrival was so grandiose that a deferential Zendaya, 28, graciously stepped aside to let her have her moment at the top of the steps, as captured by footage shared by Marie Claire magazine’s Instagram account.
The Euphoria actress coincidentally also dressed in white — a crisp suit she teamed with a matching wide-brimmed hat.
Diana’s look was styled with a matching headpiece too, which hovered over her voluminous head of dark curls like a halo.

The theme of this year’s gala is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, and the dress code Tailored for You.

This year’s co-chairs, who host the Met Gala, include actor Colman Domingo, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, rapper A$AP Rocky and musician and Louis Vuitton men’s creative director Pharrell Williams. LeBron James will also join, acting as honorary chair.
Around 600 people will attend, including athletes Simone Biles and Sha’Carri Richardson.
The official guest list is customarily kept under wraps, but the information leaked on Monday, hours before stars started arriving.
The A-list lineup is packed with stars like Rihanna, Sydney Sweeney, Hailey Bieber, and Anne Hathaway.
Other Hollywood heavyweights on the list include Gigi Hadid, Demi Moore, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, as well as Bad Bunny, Donatella Versace, Jeremy Allen White, and Suki Waterhouse.
