THIS is the moment a gang of laughing killers re-enacted the brutal murder of a dad – before using his stolen bank cards in a shop.
Michael Obasi, 38, was enjoying his usual evening walk when he was ambushed in a park in a random attack.
The three men and three teen boys robed the dad of a torch, bank cards and a gold chain before leaving him for dead.
Michael’s worried family later reported him missing but his body was not found until two days later on March 16 last year.
Chilling footage shows Manuel Filipache, 21, Ion Morar, 20, using Michael’s bank cards multiple times – including to buy drinks just moments after the horror.
Filipache, Morar and Ion Calin, 19, were also captured laughing outside a house in Birmingham as they re-enacted the murder.
They have now been jailed for a total of 120 years alongside three teen boys aged 15, 16 and 17 for murder and robbery.
CCTV showed Michael leaving his home on March 14 as the gang of killers also headed towards Perry Hall Park.
Once inside, the group set upon “defenceless” Michael in a random attack – leaving him with around 100 external injuries.
DNA from two of the teens was found on Michael’s t-shirt and rucksack.
Items belonging to Michael were also found at addresses linked to the group – including his torch.
Police were also able to identify Filipache, Morar and Calin from another attack that took place at Walsall Train Station on January 15 last year.
The violent assault was captured on CCTV as the victim was repeatedly punched and kicked.
Filipache was jailed for a minimum of 29 years, while Morar was jailed for a minimum of 25 years.
Calin was also jailed with a minimum of 24 years, while the 17-year-old received 15 years.
The 16-year-old and 15-year-old boys were also jailed for life with a minimum of 14 years and nine years, respectively.
In a moving tribute, Michael’s family said he was a “beloved partner, dad, son, brother and uncle who was cherished by everyone who knew him”.
They added: “His beautiful smile and gentle spirit brought warmth and joy to those around him and his loss is something we struggle with every single day.
“He was a devoted father who doted on his little boy, they were so close, always laughing and playing together.
“On the day he was taken from us, Michael had spent time helping his mum with her car, something he always did willingly, as helping family meant everything to him.
“Later, he went out for a walk, likely to try to beat his dad in their daily step count competition, and possibly to practise his drone flying skills, walking around a park where he spent many a day, a park full of fond family memories.
“What began as a normal day; tragically ended in heartbreak when he met with unimaginable evil. This tragedy is the result of a senseless and callous act by individuals with complete disregard for human life.
“While we hope justice will prevail, no amount of justice will ever bring Michael back or ease the pain of his loss.
“We remember Michael for the love, kindness and light he brought into our lives. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Michael.”
