Mohamed Salah says Liverpool‘s Premier League title triumph feels more special than the won the Reds won under Jurgen Klopp in 2020.

Liverpool sealed a 20th top flight trophy with a thumping 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday, putting them out of reach of second-placed Arsenal.

Salah scored the fourth goal of the game with a trademark left-footed strike from the just inside area, taking him six goals clear in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

It was the second time since 1990 that they have been crowned champions of England and there were jubilant scenes as the referee blew his full-time whistle.

And those scenes couldn’t have been much more different to 2020, where the Reds played out the final 10 games of their title-winning campaign in front of empty grounds due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Liverpool had high expectations going into that campaign while few were backing them before this season started following the departure of Jurgen Klopp and other big players.

‘This is way better, 100 per cent,’ Salah told Sky Sports after Sunday’s clincher.

‘Without Sadio (Mane), without Jurgen, without Bobby (Firmino) – without everybody it feels more special.

‘We have a different group now, different manager, so to be able to do it again is something special.’

Asked if Slot had made him a better player, Salah joked: ‘You can see the numbers – it seems so!

‘He was very honest. He’s quite tough his personality, but he made our lives easier because you knew immediately what he wanted you to do, which is what we did.’
