King Charles’ goddaughter India Hicks unveils swimwear line designed to ‘inspire confidence’ in women of all ages

King Charles‘ goddaughter India Hicks has unveiled her first swimwear collaboration with Sea Level Australia, a sophisticated 20-piece collection inspired by island living and the elegance of British design.

Designed to empower women of all ages, the range features an understated monochrome palette accented with luxe gold details, spanning one-pieces, bikinis and surf suits that cater to a variety of body shapes.

A seasoned designer with a background in fashion, entertainment, interiors and lifestyle, India brings over 30 years of experience living in The Bahamas to the collection.

Her goal was to create pieces that ‘hold everything in place’ while evoking the boldness of a modern Bond woman – sharp, self-assured and ready for action.

Speaking to MailOnline, India shared that the collection was designed with women in their 40s, 50s and beyond in mind – not to conceal, but to inspire confidence and ease.

‘Designing swimwear for these women wasn’t about hiding or covering up – it was about confidence, movement and feeling effortlessly chic.’

Prioritising structure, simplicity and comfort, the swimwear is crafted with Sea Level’s signature body-sculpting technology and SPF 50+ fabrics. The designs include plunging necklines, higher-cut legs and lower backlines that flatter the natural form.

The collection was developed over nine months in close collaboration with the Sea Level design team, with India focusing on fit, proportion, hardware and materials.

A palette of cream, gold and black set the tone – colours that reflect her island surroundings.

‘Black, like the silhouettes of palm trees at sunset, always chic, always flattering,’ India notes. ‘And coconut white – the soft, sun-bleached shades of coral sand, canvas sails and linen left to dry in the tropical breeze. Together, they reflect that easy island rhythm: understated and natural.’

The campaign, shot at India’s home on Harbour Island, was made even more personal with her son Amory, a filmmaker, behind the scenes.

‘Having Amory behind the camera made it even more meaningful, he understood exactly what we were trying to express: strength, ease and confidence. There was a quiet passing of perspective between generations.’

Drawing inspiration from iconic moments such as Ursula Andress’ beach entrance in Dr No, the collection channels a quiet yet bold energy – beachside elegance combined with a sense of personal freedom.

She believes that confidence evolves with age, becoming stronger and less performative.

‘It becomes less about impressing and more about feeling entirely yourself,’ she explains. ‘My designs meet women right there – in that sweet spot of self-assurance.’

With this collection, India embraces a modern vision of sensuality, one not defined by youth, but by presence and poise.

She explains: ‘Beauty and sensuality are no longer tied to youth alone, but to confidence, character and the way a woman carries her hard-earned sense of self.’

Leaning into that shift, the pieces are designed not to reveal more, but to reveal better – highlighting confidence and the freedom to feel entirely at ease in your own skin.

‘Women, even more so in our 50s, shouldn’t lose sight of ourselves. Life is more exciting, more thrilling now than ever before.

‘I hope the women who slip into my swimwear feel exactly like themselves – only bolder, freer and beautifully at ease, because swimwear shouldn’t feel like armour or disguise, at any age.’
