Flight attendant details essential plane travel tips that everyone should know ahead of vacation

The goal when vacationing is to remain stress free – and one woman swears she has found a way to make sure your journey is smooth sailing.

Content creator KJ, whose mom is a flight attendant, is an avid traveler who regularly shares tips and tricks to TikTok.

KJ, who has been dubbed the ‘Carry-On Queen’ by her followers, recently revealed her top tricks to a flawless travel experience – assuring viewers that they are tried and tested.

‘These are the things I do that make travel so seamless,’ she shared in a recent clip.

Her first piece of advice is to carry on luggage whenever possible.

‘That doesn’t mean I never check a bag,’ she assured viewers. ‘[But] when you pack light, it is so freeing.’

She listed the benefits – including not having to worry about losing your luggage and being able to switch flights because you’re not waiting on checked bags.

‘It’s also so much more freeing to be intentional with what your packed, and what outfits you want to wear,’ she added.

Her next tip was to pre-plan outfits, advising travelers to plan a few outfits around the main events of your trip, and then pack around those specifically.

KJ also advises to bring ‘THE sweater’ – which she said is a black cashmere sweater that pairs with everything.

‘Even if you’re going to the hottest place ever – it can be cold on planes, air conditioning can be cold – it’s just always so nice to have a sweater,’ she shared.

‘I feel like the times you say “I don’t need it,” you definitely need it,’ she added.

KJ’s next tip was to do with cleanliness – advising passengers not to use the back pocket on the plane seats.

‘That is arguably one of the dirtiest places on a plane – they are just not fully cleaned. The things people put in there are disgusting,’ she explained.

KJ told people who planned on using the pocket to put a plastic bag in it and then place in there.

According to the travel expert, the cleanest seats on the plane are the middle seats towards the front of the aircraft because after that cleaning gets a little ‘rushed’ as operators try to turn the planes over quickly.

‘You definitely want to be bringing disinfectant wipes, primarily for the armrests and definitely the tray,’ KJ urged.

The avid traveler also shared the best time (in her opinion) to book a flight – which is between 6am to 9am.

‘Definitely in the mornings because less delays,’ she pointed out.

‘A lot of the times our delayed because of domino-affected incoming aircrafts,’ she added. ‘If you’re trying to make sure you get somewhere, it’s best to leave early in the day.’

Her final tip was the ‘shoe in the safe’ trick, which is a trick to make sure nothing is left in a hotel room.

‘What flight attendants will do, is they will put one of their shoes in the safe, because when you go to pack your bags you’ll see you have one shoe and it’ll trigger your memory,’ KJ revealed.

Users loved the handy tips, some even having tried them already.

‘This needs to be a 15 part series if not more,’ one user begged.

‘Your videos have helped me so much,’ praised another.

Another urged passengers to go scent free on the flight.

‘PLEASE, for the love of God, if you use a disinfectant wipe have it be scent-free. I get motion sick and scented wipes make me feel nauseous during a flight. It will do you no good if I get sick,’ they wrote.
