A BRUTAL question on ITV’s The 1% Club left 23 contestants stunned – and out of the game in one savage swoop.
The brain-busting puzzle was designed to test the kind of logic only 1% of the nation could crack – but would you have nailed it or joined the unlucky bunch booted off stage?

Saturday night’s episode of The 1% Club saw 100 contestants try and make it to the 1% question and be in with a chance to win a share of the jackpot.
But the 45% question saw several contestants crash out of the running thanks to a head-scratcher.
Host Lee Mack asked the question: “Including the work ‘and’, what is the only number out of the numbers below that uses every vowel exactly once when spelt out?”
The answers to choose from were 107, 206 or 305.
Lee joked: “Take as long as you need… as long as the time you need is 30 seconds.”
He then revealed the correct answer was 206.
A whopping 23 people were eliminated, meaning they couldn’t continue towards the final question and a share of the jackpot.
Later, the 15% question saw multiple contestants get knocked out.
A very cryptic letter question left ITV viewers and even host Lee Mack baffled.
Lee asked the question: “Which of these groups of six symbols are in the same order whether you read them from left to right or right to left?”
He joked: “This is basically what we had to use before emojis.”
Lee then revealed the correct answer was C.
Eight players were eliminated, just three questions away from the 1% question and chance to win the jackpot.

In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. It turned out to be correct as Nicole Kidman, Frances McDormand and Kate Winslet are among the stars who have won the Best Actress gong since 2000.
- The 1% Club – Viewers of Lee Mack’s popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. The query went as follows: “Edna’s birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen’s birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir’s birthday must be the ‘X’ of January.” It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir’s birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence.
- The Chase – The ITV daytime favourite left fans scratching their heads when it threw up one of the most bizarre questions to ever grace the programme. One of the questions asked the player: “Someone with a nightshade intolerance should avoid eating what?” The options were – sweetcorn, potatoes, carrots – with Steve selecting sweetcorn but the correct answer was potatoes.
