A toddler has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a pitbull at a birthday party.
The youngster, believed to be between two and three years old, suffered arm and head injuries after the incident in Stockton-On-Tees, Teesside.
Officers seized the animal at the scene in Chopwell Close, Hardwick, and it has been taken to specialist kennels while investigations continue.
The child was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees and their injuries have been described by police as not life-threatening.
Police are yet to confirm the breed of the dog but witness have reported seeing a pitbull-cross.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police, said: ‘Police were called to a property on Chopwell Close in Hardwick, Stockton, this afternoon after it was reported that a child had been attacked by a dog.
