Man creates GIANT Creme Egg that weighs the ‘same as a five-year-old child’ – and Brits still say they could eat it all

A food lover has created a giant Creme Egg that he joked weighed the ‘same as a five-year-old child’.

Phoenix, from the United Kingdom, often whips up vibrant and innovative recipes on his TikTok and Instagram pages and particularly enjoys baking supersized versions of popular food items.

He said: ‘You may not agree with me but I believe that most foods that are small would be better if they were big.’

With Easter just around the corner, Phoenix decided to recreate an extra large version of a British classic – the Cadbury‘s Creme Egg.

He filmed himself melting down 20 bars of the chocolate, along with smaller Easter eggs before setting the cocoa in a large mould.

The content creator then melted down an eye-watering four kilograms of sugar to make the famous fondant goo that the Easter treat is known for.

‘It’s something I’ve never done before and I don’t know why it would be easy,’ he said, as he embarked on making the egg filling, for which he used 4kg of sugar fondant icing.

He claimed that whipping the icing in a bowl with just a wooden spoon took him more than an hour to get it to the right consistency.

‘Guess what? I had to do it again because I didn’t make it enough,’ Phoenix told his viewers.

He also purchased a custom tool to carve out the star in the centre of the solid chocolate outer shell.

He then filled both halves of the egg up and put the white fondant icing in first before creating the yolk with the orange version.

Phoenix then melted down a bar of chocolate and used it to seal the two halves together, which brought the total number of chocolate bars used in the gigantic sweet treat up to 20.

‘This thing literally weights as much as a five-year-old,’ he said.

Phoenix then commissioned an artist to create a giant foil wrapper, adding: ‘Money well spent because this thing looks sick.’

The video racked up a whopping 1.2million views and thousands of comments from Creme Egg fans.

Another penned: ‘I’d record myself eating it all in one sitting.

A third said: ‘Where would you even start when it comes to eating it?’

A fourth commented: ‘All I need now is a giant spoon.’

Cadbury says the iconic middle of the Egg is made of sugar, milk, glucose syrup, cocoa butter, invert sugar syrup, dried whey, vegetable fats and dried egg white.

The chocolate company has claimed that more than 500million Creme Eggs are made year-round and not just at Easter time, which averages out to more than 1,369,000 each day.

But they aren’t exactly one of your five-a-day. Each 40g egg contains 26.5g of sugar, 6.1g of fat and 3.7g of saturated fat.
