IF you’re planning to treat yourself to some sweet snacks over the weekend, Asda has just the thing.
And the supermarket has slashed the price on a popular buy, that is similar to a sold-out M&S item.
Easter weekend is a time for indulging in chocolate for every meal without guilt or judgment.
And now Asda shoppers can do just that with a seasonal treat from the store’s bakery, which is now cheaper than ever.
A customer shared the impressive deal on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.
She revealed that she snapped up a five-pack of Asda’s Cracking Chocolate Egg Cookies for just 44p.
The bargain hunter described the deal as an “amazing price for the kids”.
Another Facebook user joked that it was a “cracking price” in the comments section.
The eggs are similar to a highly sought-after treat available from M&S.
Sweet-toothed fans have been scouring various locations in an effort to sink their teeth into the sold-out snack.
A pack of five Speckled Egg Cookies is listed for £2.90 but have proven difficult to find.
The cookies contain a combination of milk chocolate and white chocolate buttons.
They also feature the M&S speckled chocolate eggs, similar to Cadbury’s Mini Eggs.
One lucky Instagrammer shared her review after nabbing a pack of when they first hit shelves in March.
“They are so good, they’re even better than the [M&S] milk chocolate, white chocolate, or double chocolate [cookies],” Cissy Jones told her followers.
“They’re just incredible, wow.”
But if you’re hoping to try either treat, you’ll want to act fast and not just to beat out other eager shoppers.
How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…
Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.
Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
Tomorrow is your last day to hit up most supermarkets in England Wales before Easter Sunday.
While some smaller locations will still open, lots of major retailers will pull their shutters for 24 hours.
Asda will see 580 of its larger locations close for 24 hours over the Easter weekend.
