Tragic accident  landed me in coma and shut off my consciousness… I returned with proof of afterlife

When Texas native Ellen Wier was 12, she suffered a life threatening head injury that upended her life — for the better.

Weir was horseback riding when she fell off the saddle, barely hanging on. Her horse, spooked, kicked her in the temple.

She was in a coma for days, her family in fear that she wouldn’t recover. But while her family fretted, Wier was experiencing a spiritual awakening.

‘I remember being on a raft of sorts, a wooden raft, and there were pink clouds everywhere. And I felt very loved and connected. And I remember seeing Jesus in front of me, I recognized Jesus,’ she said.

‘And on my left there was a figure next to him in long brown robes, bald with bare feet who I didn’t recognize, but I felt safe. I felt this protector energy.’

She was ferried to multiple realms of the afterlife, feeling a warm sense of love and protection as she transitioned from one comforting scenario to another one, bathed in gold light.

She said: ‘It was the most beautiful, connected, warm feeling you could have.’

When given the choice to return to her body, Wier took it, and, within a matter of days, was recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Wier, now 48, detailed her experience to her local CBS News station. She described being ferried into realm with bright white light, and an array of multicolored streams and trees.

‘I was taken into this realm of golden light, and it was all love. It was the most beautiful, connected, warm feeling you could have,’ she said.

‘And I was in front of Jesus, and he communicated with me and asked me if I wanted to stay or go back.

‘And I really wanted to stay because I felt so loved and so whole.’

But she was shown the trajectory of her father’s life, she said, ‘and saw he wouldn’t actualize his life on this planet if I chose to stay.’

‘I remember choosing to live,’ she said. ‘And it was in that moment I chose to live that in my entire heart I felt this expansion, this warmth, this love, this complete expansion of energy. And I was so grateful to live. I knew it was a gift.’

The term ‘near-death experience’ usually refers to what a person goes through when they experience severe trauma, little to no brain activity, deep anesthesia, or cardiac arrest.

Research into near-death experiences (NDEs) is growing quickly, and a recent review of their aftereffects found that the most commonly reported changes include a reduced fear of death, a sense of being blessed by a higher power, a renewed sense of purpose, increased self-esteem, and a greater compassion for others.

A severe injury to the temple is often fatal. The force of a horse’s kick could cause a fracture in the skull, which could lead to bleeding inside the brain.

Wier did not explain what specific injury she suffered when she was 12, but a kick to the temple can cause bruising on the brain as well as swelling, both potentially life-threatening conditions [stock]

After her experience, Wier felt a strong desire to give back and decided to return with the intention of healing others through music. Today, she works as a psychologist and music therapist in Texas, fulfilling the purpose she set for herself

It can also cause bruising on the brain caused by bursting blood vessels that cause blood to leak. The exact fatality rate of brain contusions is hard to pin down, but in severe cases, it can reach around 50 percent.

A traumatic brain injury can also cause swelling. The brain may begin to expand due to the buildup of fluid, and this swelling increases pressure inside the skull.

Since the skull is rigid and does not allow for much expansion, the brain pushes against the skull and can squeeze vital areas of the brain, including the brainstem, which controls basic bodily functions including breathing, heart rate, and consciousness.

Wier did not say specifically how the injury affected her brain, but just a few days later, she made a full recovery and had a new mission in life.

‘I wanted to give back. I said I want to come back and heal people with music.

‘And I made a second vow. I will give gratitude every day for every experience, because I know it’s a gift because everything is a lesson. Everything is something to expand our soul.’

She is now a psychologist and music therapist in Texas, doing ‘exactly what I came back here to do.’
