It’s the go-to music streaming platform for millions of people around the world.

But it appears that Spotify is down this morning, with thousands of reports coming in on Down Detector.

The issues started at around 10:00 BST and are affecting users globally.

So far, more than 7,500 problems have been logged in the UK, while almost 4,000 have been reported on Down Detector’s US site.

Of those who reported problems in the UK, 63 per cent said the issue was with the app, while 20 per cent said they were struggling with the website.

The remaining 17 per cent said the problem was with video streaming.

Spotify is yet to comment on the outage, but is responding to users on X.

‘Have you tried a quick reinstall? If that doesn’t help, we’d recommend reaching out to our Customer Service,’ it replied to one user.

While the reason for the outage remains unclear, some users have reported seeing three dots on their screen.

Others say they are unable to login at all, while one said their entire screen went black.

MailOnline tried to access Spotify on an iPhone and on a desktop computer in the UK, and did not encounter these issues on either device.

Many frustrated users have flocked to X to discuss this morning’s outage.

‘Spotify won’t load any more and it gives me errors every time i try to load it,’ one user tweeted.

Another added: ‘Now talk about why my screen on Spotify is black and I can’t search any songs.’

And one joked: ‘SPOTIFY IS DOWN FOR THE WHOLE WORLD I ALMOST GOT A HEART ATTACK THINKIN ITS JUST ME.’

The outage comes shortly after Spotify angered users by raising its prices for the second time in less than a year.
