TIGER Woods has been officially charged with DUI after his horror rollover crash – as prosecutors demand to see the legendary golfer’s drug prescription records.
The 15-time major winner, 50, was cuffed last month after crashing his Land Rover into the back of a pickup truck in Florida.
Woods showed “severe signs of impairment” and was charged with driving under the influence with property damage and refusing to take a chemical or physical test of his breath or urine.
The athlete has pleaded not guilty to the two misdemeanour charges.
Woods claims he was looking at his phone and switching radio stations when his SUV clipped the back of the truck and rolled onto its side.
Cops later reported finding two hydrocodone pills – an opioid medication for pain – in his pocket.
Prosecutors are now demanding to see all records connected to the golfer’s prescriptions, including dosage instructions and warnings about driving on the drugs.
A subpoena was filed on Tuesday, according to court documents, seeking the information from Lewis Pharmacy in Palm Beach, Florida, from the start of the year through the end of March.
Woods’ lawyers can fight the request within ten days, otherwise prosecutors could receive the evidence they need on April 22, according to the court filing.
The crash-prone golf legend failed a field sobriety test at the crash scene but a passed a breathalyser test.
Bodycam footage from the arrest shows Woods wearing sunglasses and kneeling on the side of the road while being questioned by officers.
He told officers: “I looked down at my phone, and all of a sudden, boom.”
Woods added that he crawled out of the passenger seat door to escape the vehicle.
Another bodycam clip shows Woods talking on the phone shortly before the arrest, with the golf star claiming: “I was just talking to the President”.
More footage shows an officer asking Woods to face the hood of the car and place his hands behind his back as she tells him he’s being arrested.
She can be heard saying she believes he’s impaired due to an “unknown substance,” before a shocked and confused Woods turns around to exclaim, “I’m being arrested?”
While he’s handcuffed against the cop car, officers search his pockets and pull out two white pills, which are bagged into evidence.
The golf star continues to hiccup when he’s put in the back of the police car, and falls asleep en route to the station.
He spent eight hours in jail after he was booked and charged with a DUI, causing damage to property, and refusal to submit to a urine test.
After the arrest, Woods announced that he was stepping away from the sport and would be withdrawing from this week’s Masters at Augusta.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” the athlete said.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.
“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.
“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally.
“I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
Donald Trump also remarked on the crash before news broke that Tiger had been arrested.
Speaking next to Air Force 1, the US President said: “I feel so bad. He’s got some difficulty — there was an accident, and that’s all I know.”
Adding that he was “a very close friend” and “an amazing person”.
In 2021, Woods was involved in another horrific rollover crash that left him seriously injured and fearing he’d lose a leg.
The golfing legend lost control of his SUV and hit a tree after driving more than 80mph in a 45mph zone.
At the time, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the 15-time major champion was “lucky to be alive.”
In 2017, Woods also fell foul of the law when he was arrested for driving under the influence after cops caught him asleep at the wheel of his car.
Officers had noticed his vehicle parked erratically at the side of the road with the engine running.
Distressing police bodycam footage showed him unable to breathe into a breathalyzer as he stumbled around the police station.
And in 2009, Woods collided with fire hydrant, a tree, and several hedges near his Florida mansion.
He was knocked unconscious in the crash and was rescued by his wife at the time, model Elin Nordegren, who smashed the car’s windows with a golf club to save him.
