Megyn Kelly, 55, praises menopause treatment that’s completely transformed her health: ‘There’s no shame in it’

Megyn Kelly unashamedly lauded hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for helping her through menopause, telling women there’s ‘no shame’ in aging.

The political commentator, 55, credited the medication with fixing a series of health issues she had been grappling with.

During a conversation with actor Josh Duhamel on her self-titled show, which airs on SiriusXM, Kelly advocated for the treatment.

‘I’m on it and I love it. I will say it’s resolved so many things that were going wrong with me that I had no idea were hormone related.’

Kelly said that the treatment has fixed her dry eye, as well as improved her skin and helped her to feel ‘vibrant’ again.

‘You feel better, you look better, your skin is better, you feel more vibrant, the brain fog [is gone]’ she said.;

‘There are so many advantages to it but people don’t want to talk about it because… it’s a sign of getting older.’

Kelly concluded: ‘There’s no shame in getting older and having these things happen. And you saying, “no, I refuse. I’m going down swinging.”‘

Responding to her high praise, Duhamel, 53, said: ‘Yeah, well, I mean, you look amazing, Megyn.

‘I mean, if anybody was the perfect poster child for HRT, it’s you. You really do look incredible.’

HRT remains the first-line treatment for menopausal symptoms, replacing the estrogen and progesterone that fall during menopause.

It can be taken in several forms, including tablets, patches and gels.

HRT is unsuitable for some women with a history of breast or ovarian cancer, blood clots or untreated high blood pressure.

Some women experience side effects or would prefer a non-hormonal alternative.

Kelly’s brutal honesty prompted numerous women to come forward and share their experiences.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one said: ‘Without HRT, after menopause, my estrogen level went to ZERO. ZERO. I would have slowly died without estrogen.

‘For me, HRT is medically necessary, not a nice little adjunct to freshen up my face.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another wrote: ‘I do HRT pellets and they’ve given me my life back!’

‘I have been on it for 13 years and the difference is stunning,’ added a third.

‘Sometimes I give a break for two to three weeks and I can barely get out of bed or function, have horrendous hot flashes and irritability is sky high. I am never quitting it.’

Kelly is married to novelist Douglas Brunt, and the pair share three children, sons Yates, 16, and Thatcher, 12, and daughter Yardley, 14.

In the past, Kelly has credited IVF for helping her conceive all three of her kids.
