Britain’s Got Talent sparked a ‘fix’ row after an auditionee was revealed to be an established West End star.

Viewers watched singer Nic Vani receive a standing ovation from the judges and audience for his rendition of The Lion King’s Circle Of Life on Saturday night’s show.

Before he began to sing, the father-of-three told the panel: ‘In my music career I’ve always been at the back so now it’s time for me to be in the spotlight.’

And one viewer pointed out Nic was no amateur by any means. They wrote on X: ‘Nic vani.. the guy who literally played simba in the lion king.. why are they letting people like this on #bgt??’

Nic has starred in the The Book Of Mormon and The Lion King on the West End and has also been on tour with Oti Mabuse as a lead singer.

A source told The Sun: ‘Nic loves performing and has been grafting in musical theatre for decades, but he has always been the swing player waiting in the wings and never the headline West End star.

‘All contestants are auditioned on merit and judged on their performance on the day.

‘Some of the acts appearing on the show may have tasted a level of success in their craft, but are not household names. All enter the contest with the hope of elevating their career to the highest level.’

Daily Mail has contacted Britain’s Got Talent for comment.

Other viewers were impressed by Nic’s performance and even called for him to get a golden buzzer. They wrote: ‘Nic has a God given talent and is such a beautiful soul. Sometimes the golden buzzers peak far too soon. He really deserves one.’

Elsewhere in the show, guest judge Stacey Solomon gave her golden buzzer to a group of children from Braunstone Community Primary School who sang All Things Bright And Beautiful.

While at first it seemed innocent, a young boy dressed as the teacher soon ran on to stage and stole the teacher away before taking over the conducting.

The teacher soon returned to stage in a T-shirt and metallic cap before a host of other children ran up the aisles and joined the rest on stage before launching into a pop music remix and dance routine.

The sweet act got all the judges up dancing, with Ant and Dec also showing off their moves in the wings
