BRITS have the chance to snap up this holiday home for a cracking price – but buyers will have to be ballsy if they want to secure the bare-gain.
The two-bed home is located in the heart of the UK’s only residential nudist community – the Spielplatz Naturist Village in Hertfordshire.
Potential buyers have been warned the chalet, which forms part of the famous village near St Albans, is for “genuine nudists only”.
But, if they are willing to bare all, they can snap up the recently refurbished home for just £200,000.
Spielplatz – German for “playground” – is conveniently located a mile off the M25 and stretches across 12 acres.
It is home to roughly 50 inhabitants, who can enjoy the play areas, swimming pool, hot tub, games court and a clubhouse.
This chalet, listed by Mather Estates, is described as “one of the best homes on the park”, with an open plan lounge, diner and kitchen.
It comes complete with two double bedrooms and has also received fresh windows, doors, fittings, electrics, roof and cladding.
The rear of the property features a large garden space with private parking and further guest parking available.
Mather Estates said: “This chalet can be for a holiday residence or your all year round home but this park is for genuine nudists only.
“Mather Estates are delighted to offer to the market a luxurious two double bedroom detached chalet.
“Located in a favourable position within the UK’s longest serving and well known naturist village just off Lye Lane, Bricket Wood on “Spielplatz Naturist Park”, offering great access to major road links and amenities.
“This chalet has been refurbished to a great standard and in our opinion is now one of the best homes on the park.”
The holiday home hit the market on March 27.
All are welcome at the village, with residents including a teacher, a retired BT engineer, a town planner and a mechanic.
At Spielplatz, 33 attractive wooden bungalows – all of a similar size – are dotted around the estate, as well as a number of caravans.
And while you don’t have to be naked all the time, it is mandatory to swim naked in the heated pool.
Social events are held in the clubhouse – which has a pool table – throughout the year.
Upon visiting the naked village last year, we chatted with locals who described the community as “easy and comfortable”.
Joanne Hudson, a 59-year-old mum-of-two who used to own a bridal shop in St Albans, moved to the village in 2020.
She told The Sun: “I live by myself and I love it. It’s so easy and friendly and comfortable here.
“I’ve had breast cancer recently and the people here have been amazing.
“I tell everybody where I live. Some people get it, some don’t.”
Some Spielplatz residents are perfectly open with colleagues and family about where they live.
Others, however, prefer to live there on the quiet.
One recent survey found that 14 per cent of Brits describe themselves as naturists or nudists – around 6.75million people.
It is a huge increase on previous estimates – up from a lowly two per cent in 2001.
To many outsiders, there are suspicions that naturism is all about sex – but the residents say it absolutely isn’t.
Alan, a 76-year-old retired BT engineer, said “We’ve had a few people turn up and ask: ‘What time does the orgy start?’.
“But it’s not about sex. The image is different from the reality.”
