BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans were left furious tonight by Stacey Solomon’s Golden Buzzer choice – but not for the reason you may think.
Stacey stepped in as a guest judge for Simon Cowell during the auditions in Birmingham.
After a string of joke acts, viewers were desperate to see some talent take to the stage.
Braunstone Community Primary School were next up and they impressed with their rendition of All Things Bright And Beautiful but with a twist.
They then performed a comedy skit halfway through, which was met with a huge applause by the crowd.
They then began dancing on stage while other members of the group from the audience made their way to the stage to join them.
Their headteacher Mr T was seen sweetly encouraging the kids on stage as they rocked out to the music.
Amanda Holden admitted she “loved” the performance and wish she had a teacher as cool as their one.
Stacey said: “You have no idea how lucky you are to have a headteacher like that.
“That’s an absolutely gift.
“With your energy, your love, your kindness and your students.
“I feel like…,” before she leaped up from her seat and pressed the Golden Buzzer.
The kids were seen screaming and jumping around as confetti filled the stage.
Stacey then joined them on stage as she congratulated the act.
Sitting back in her seat, she said: “You are what life is all about, you are the future. Selfishly I enjoyed that as much as you did.
“That is the best feeling in the world to see all of you going to the semi-finals and get to spread joy
“I can’t wait to see how far you go.”
But viewers weren’t convinced that the act needed the Golden Buzzer – saying that they would have got through to the semi-finals without it.
One wrote: “Stacey Solomon needs to be banned from pressing the Golden Buzzer.”
A second said: “No way she’s pressed the Golden Buzzer.”
A third said: “Absolutely ridiculous waste of a golden buzzer.”
Another commented: “A golden buzzer for jumping around to a song? never did like Stacey Solomon.”
But this viewer defended Stacey’s choice, writing: “I think you have to understand about Braunstone. My cousin left school there at 16 unable to read. These kids are so lucky to have this guy.”
Another said: “Mr T.. what a head teacher!! Should be a thing in every school, let the kids have some fun. Primary schools are SO serious and they’re just babies.”
Tonight’s episode also saw quietly confident Kristel prove she’s not afraid to go big as she took on a Whitney Houston ballad Run To You.
She received four big yeses from the judges and was through to the next round.
Meanwhile, Nic Vani took centre stage for his Lion King cover.
Performing Circle of Life from the Disney film, the talented singer wowed the judges and wrapped up tonight’s show with a resounding yes.
