A HANDFUL of channels will disappear from TVs in the UK throughout the month of April.
Households will notice a switch up to some classic channels as broadcasters overhaul their platforms.

Customers of TV broadcasters Sky and Virgin Media will be losing several channels in the coming weeks.
The popular channel Quest SD (Satellite 140/834 – 141 Scotland) closed permanently on Wednesday, April 1.
However, Sky customers can still find their favourite lifestyle content on the channel’s HD service.
Adult entertainment channel Climax SD (Satellite 909) has also been shut down this month.
The move comes as Sky continues to discontinue its Standard Definition feeds.
This switch up is being carried out in an effort to save satellite bandwidth, meaning Sky users with older boxes will likely have to upgrade to HD services eventually.
However, majority of Sky’s channel closures for April will affect customers in the Republic of Ireland, with 11 removals.
Quest +1 (Satellite 240) is among the number of catch-up channels shut down by the broadcaster.
Fan favourites such as Discovery +1, TLC+1, and Animal Planet +1 will also no longer be available for Irish viewers.
And over on Virgin Media, the premium 4K channel (Channels 228 & 999) Virgin TV Ultra HD will be removed for non-subscribers in the UK after Sunday, April 12, 2026.
