Brit award-winning Raye forced to apologise to fans after mishap with new album on vinyl

RAYE has issued an apology to any fans who purchased the vinyl release of her second studio album, This Music May Contain Hope.

The BRIT Award-winning songstress, 28, only released her new tracks into the world a week ago but came across a major mishap.

The vinyls were pressed before the final songs were finalised, meaning the sound of the tracks on vinyl is different to what’s available on CDs.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Raye confessed: “My vinyl is a first edition. I really apologise…

“I’m apologising to anyone who’s purchased an album. Because you are getting the album. It’s not a fraudulent album.

“However it is a first edition. I want you to know the digital versions of some of these songs — some are quite different.

“And you just need to embrace that because I tried my best.”

Raye‘s first album dropped over three years ago in 2023, and she described further in the interview just how much she’s poured into crafting her second release.

She continued: “It’s taken every blood cell.

“If I wasn’t on a stage, I was pouring into this body of work. I’m honestly exhausted — mentally and physically — but in a good way.

“It’s been a labour of absolute passion and love.”

Raye also noted how she explored a variety of different directions on the new record, refusing to confine herself to being one thing.

She stated: “I’m not just one thing. I’ve grown up with many cultures — my identity isn’t one thing.

“So how can you ask me to choose one thing?

“On this record I embraced maximalism… any genre I wanted to explore, I did.”

The apology comes shortly after Raye exclusively told The Sun that she plans not to release any more new music until a certain major change happens in her life.

That major change is that she’s hoping to first fall in love.

Raye, whose new record is so far outselling the rest of the Top Five combined, said on a TikTok livestream: “My third album is going to be called And Then She Fell In Love, and I’m not going to write a single song of that album until I fall in love.

“It’s enough ‘I’m single’, ‘This guy done me wrong’, ‘This sucks about this and that’, songs. I’m tired of writing songs like that. The end.

“I will fall in love, and then I’ll write an album, and every song is going to be like, ‘I love love’, ‘I’m in love’, ‘Love for ever’, ‘She’s in love,’ ‘It’s a lovely day to be loved’.”
