Tiger Woods called President Donald Trump for help after flipping his SUV, newly released footage suggests.
The 15-time major winner was arrested after crashing his car into a pickup truck in Florida on Friday.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office also cited Woods for reckless driving, which comes with a $163 fine.
The footage, obtained by TMZ, shows Woods wandering around as cops assessed the scene.
At one point, he walks into the distance before he is called back by police.
As he returns, he appears to be on the phone and can be heard saying: “Thank you so much. All right. You got it. Bye.”
When the officer asks Woods to remain close by, he responds: “Yeah, I was just talking to the President.”
He then adds that Trump was “very apologetic for what he did last night”.
Trump said Woods would not play in the 2026 Masters Tournament in a Fox News appearance the day before.
He announced the news days after Woods left the door open for a potential return.
The US president also remarked on the crash before news broke that Tiger had been arrested.
Speaking next to Air Force 1, the US President said: “I feel so bad. He’s got some difficulty — there was an accident, and that’s all I know.”
Adding that he was “a very close friend” and “an amazing person”.
“I don’t want to talk about it”, Trump concluded.
Another clip of a field sobriety test conducted by an officer shows Woods constantly hiccuping while following a pen with his eyes.
The officer then asks Woods to face the hood of the car and place his hands behind his back and tells him he’s being arrested.
She can be heard saying she believes he’s impaired due to an “unknown substance,” before a shocked and confused Woods turns around to exclaim, “I’m being arrested?”
While he’s handcuffed against the cop car, officers search his pockets and pull out two white pills, which are bagged into evidence.
The golf legend continues to hiccup when he’s put in the back of the police car, and falls asleep en route to the station.
He spent eight hours in jail after he was booked and charged with a DUI, causing damage to property, and refusal to submit to a urine test.
Deputies allegedly searched Woods and discovered two white pills in his left pants pocket, which were later found to be the prescription opioid hydrocodone.
Hydrocodone is used to treat moderate to severe pain.
The golfer’s Land Rover struck a truck towing a trailer, spinning his vehicle onto its side.
Woods said he crawled out of the passenger seat door to escape the vehicle.
He claimed that he was distracted by his phone and didn’t realize the car in front of him slowed down until it was too late.
Sheriff John Budensiek alleged Woods had tried to overtake the cleaning truck at a “high rate of speed” before clipping it and flipping his Land Rover.
After the arrest, Woods said he was “stepping away for a period of time”.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he said in a statement on social media.
Woods was later released on bail and will appear in court on or before Friday, April 17, 2026.
