Moment ‘millionaire Saudi businessman’s £300,000 Porsche’ is impounded after ignoring parking ticket

A £300,000 Porsche believed to belong to a millionaire Saudi businessman has been impounded in London after he ignored a parking ticket.

In footage obtained exclusively by the Daily Mail, a black Porsche 911 GT3 RS can be seen parked within a set of yellow lines on a plush side road off Kensington High Street, west London.

A tow truck then pulls up next to the luxury supercar – which has a yellow parking ticket lodged underneath a windscreen wiper – and uses a red crane to lift the vehicle on to the bed as passersby watch on.

Two men in high-visibility jackets help guide it on to the truck before it is driven off to be impounded.

The lavish Porsche – which can cost up to £300k – is believed to be owned by Hassan Sharbatly, one of Saudi Arabia‘s wealthiest entrepreneurs.

The businessman is CEO of the Al Nahla group, which owned a billion-dollar share in Riyadh Bank as of 2021.

The company specialises in real estate in Saudi, but also has a foothold in the automotive sector possibly fuelling Mr Sharbatly’s love of cars.

The entrepreneur is known for his vast collection of expensive vehicles, with many of his beloved cars spotted across London in recent years.

These have included a Bugatti Chiron worth up to £3m, Lamborghini Sián worth up to £2.6m, a Ferrari SF90XX worth over £700k, and a Ferrari 812 Competizione worth up to £500k.

The Porsche was parked just outside celebrity hangout Roof Gardens which recently caught on fire after a huge blaze tore through the building in the middle of the night.

Its owner appears to have ignored the parking ticket placed on its windscreen causing it to be towed away.

The vehicle has previously featured in supercar appreciation posts on Instagram wrapped in a slightly different grey and black design.

It can reach speeds of up to 184mph and is able to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.2secs.

Motorists paid out a record £782 million in parking fines to councils last year, it was revealed in January – £160 million more than the previous 12 months.

The figures reveal 1,500 motorists an hour were hit with fines, which average £60 but can go up to £160, or more than 35,000 tickets a day.

The sharp rise comes after many councils increased the level of fines and expanded parking control zones.

Many councils have withdrawn pay and display parking machines in favour of parking apps, claiming it saves money by reducing the risk of theft and avoiding the need to upgrade machines.

Much of the record haul was collected by councils in London, where fines increased by £30 up to £160 last year, and those in other major cities around the country.

The top 16 councils for parking ticket income were all in the capital, with Westminster in central London raking in nearly £50 million in tickets.
