THIS is the chilling moment terrifying Tehran warheads smash into the ground and erupt in a fiery explosion.
The video emerges as Iran threatens that it has seven million soldiers “locked and loaded” to defend against invasion.
Dramatic video reportedly showed a hit on a base used by US forces in Jordan – it is not clear if it’s recent or if it is from earlier in the conflict.
The Sun is working to verify the footage, but it seems to show an orange missile piercing the black sky at high speed.
The projectile appears to be chased by interceptors, but it is too late.
The camera swings suddenly to the side as the missile races to its target.
A huge explosion erupts as it smashes into the ground.
Then a large cloud of spoke plumes and fiery ash falls from the sky.
Overnight, the speaker of the Iranian parliament claimed that “powerful national campaign” across Iran has hugely increased the size of its army.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf claimed there were “around seven million Iranians who have already stepped up and declared they’re ready to pick up arms and stand in defence” of their country.
Ghalibaf wrote an emotional statement on X, saying: “When the time comes to defend our homeland, every last one of us becomes a soldier.”
He threatened: “Iranians don’t just talk about defending their country, we bleed for it. We’ve done it before, and we’re ready to do it again.
“You come for our home… you’re gonna meet the whole family. Locked, loaded and standing tall. Bring it on.”
It came as Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the Iranian regime’s “recklessness” in blockading the Strait of Hormuz was “hitting our global economic security” before chairing a meeting with some 40 countries aiming to reopen the vital shipping lane.
She said: “We have seen Iran hijack an international shipping route to hold the global economy hostage”, in opening remarks before the rest of the meeting was held behind closed doors.
The US did not attend the talks – Trump said in a fiery address last night that he will bomb Iran “back to the Stone Ages” unless the Strait of Hormuz is un-blocked.
US Central Commander Brad Cooper said they are “making undeniable progress” in Iran.
He said: “We don’t see their navy sailing. We don’t see their aircraft flying, and their air and missile defence systems have largely been destroyed.”
It comes as fears that the US could pull out of Nato build, after Trump said he was on the verge of leaving the alliance yesterday.
Poland‘s PM Donald Tusk warned that the US president’s threats to leave Nato was contributing to “Putin’s dream plan”.
He said: “The threat of Nato’s break-up, easing sanctions on Russia, a massive energy crisis in Europe, halting aid for Ukraine and blocking the loan for Kyiv by Orbán – it all looks like Putin’s dream plan.”
