Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo take viewers inside their newly-renovated £12million home after clashing over her ’embarrassingly expensive’ taste including £44k marble tiles on new Disney+ show

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo will take viewers inside their newly-renovated home in their upcoming Disney+ show about their journey to parenthood.

The first episode, which will hit screens on April 2, sees Jamie, 37, and Sophie, 31, battling against time to get the sprawling property finished in time for the birth of their first child, Ziggy.

Three-part series Raising Chelsea, which is set to air on Disney+ in April, will follow the former Made In Chelsea stars as they face the reality of becoming parents.

It follows Sophie and Jamie from early pregnancy to labour and finally meeting their baby son, Ziggy, now nearly four months old.

And much of the action in the debut episode is dedicated to the makeover happening inside the £4.1million property that they purchased together ahead of the birth.

Now said to be worth a whopping £12million thanks to a renovations overhaul, Jamie and Sophie will offer fans a sneak peek inside all the rooms on the series.

Seen both before, during and after the renovations, new dad Jamie also discusses the mammoth price tag of doing up the property, thanks to Sophie’s ‘expensive taste’.

Before the big reveal as the couple meet with building project planners to discuss the final design choices, they spill the details on the marble floor downstairs in the property, which cost a mammoth £44,000.

Jamie is seen telling the cameras: ‘If it was down to me, I would go for a little wood and like, stone, and maybe like a golf simulator, that would be my taste, but Sophie’s taste is now that.’

He later adds to the builders: ‘Everything she picks is the most expensive… “Oh, I quite like that one”, obviously because it’s the most expensive.

‘Jack, I didn’t realise how expensive marble was. They have quoted £44,000. I had a panic attack, and got over that, we can’t do that, it’s a complete and utter joke.

‘Bills are coming out of your a***hole, and it’s going to be this budget, and then it’s not this budget, they set you a timeline, and then the timeline goes way over.’

‘You better love this place. I’m being serious, it’s a lot,’ Jamie is then seen telling Sophie, who hits back: ‘All you talk about is the money, it’s embarrassing.’

Later, the duo see the finished house for the first time, starting in snug lounge, which is painted a chic dark green and decorated with cream coloured furniture.

The marble fireplace is accented with a huge black-trimmed mirror, matching the panelled doors leading into the kitchen and dining room.

The duo are then seen walking around the huge kitchen, with stone flooring and a white and grey marble breakfast island, as well as a huge wooden table.

A walk in wardrobe space is covered in chic cream wardrobes, while outside the garden is landscaped with grass and flowers.

It comes after Jamie and Sophie unveiled their stunning new home ‘just in time’ for the birth of their first baby as they took to Instagram with a video of the property.

Former Made In Chelsea star Jamie took to social media to show off the new abode as fans rushed to compliment the pair.

Jamie took his followers on a tour of the downstairs, showing a before of the property empty with light fixtures dangling from the ceiling – joking that the 14-month-long renovation had left them ‘nearly divorced’.

In the after footage, he unveiled the stunning split level and open plan kitchen, dining and living space of the property.

The former reality star has accumulated his wealth thanks to a number of business ventures, including co-founding sweet manufacturing company Candy Kittens in 2012.

His ancestor Alexander Grant also helped invent Digestives and is the founder of the McVitie’s brand.

Jamie has also starred on Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Gogglebox and The Great British Bake Off.

He co-hosts hit podcast NearlyParents with wife Sophie, which draws big advertisers such as cosmetic brand Max Factor.

Sharing his new house, Jamie captioned his post ‘Just in time’ before tagging Sophie and penning: ‘My wife and I bought our first home and started renovating it…

’14 months, 10,000 arguments and nearly divorced later, we’ve finally finished.’

Jamie could be seem beaming as he walked around his gigantic marble kitchen island as he made his way to his stainless steel American fridge freezer.

The warm spot lighting and white wooden panelling on the ceiling gave the interior a homely and cosy feel.

It also features curved arched door frames, with a pantry just off the kitchen.

The raised level of the living area gives a feel of separation from the rest of the house, with family photos colouring the walls.

Jamie and Sophie’s house is also flooded with natural light thanks to the four skylights in the ceiling.

While fans flooded the pair with compliments on their new home, Jamie did not reveal the rest of the property.

Sophie announced to fans she is expecting her first child with her husband Jamie back in June.

The loved-up couple tied the knot in a lavish Spanish wedding in 2023.

Last week, Sophie opened up on the explosive rows she had with husband Jamie following the birth of their son Ziggy ahead of the release of their new TV series.

Sophie admitted: ‘I’ll just say that our team that filmed with us really filmed everything – we filmed for about nine months and they were with us the whole time.

‘There were times where I thought, “That surely isn’t going to be kept in. That’s not going to be aired,” and then watching back, I’m like, “Ugh!”, but it’s life.’

Sophie continued of the pressures of juggling parenthood alongside work, and renovating their house in the wake of welcoming their baby: ‘It was constant, nearly a breakdown every day.’

Jamie added: ‘I thought at one point Soph was going to divorce me! It was either going to be divorced or one of us was going to murder the other…

There was one day which I thought, “That was it. It was over”.’

Nonetheless, they’re prepared to bare all for their fans, as Jamie continued: ‘Well, Sophie married someone who really loves to be behind the camera, in front of the camera, has recorded and documented everything for ever

‘We sort of followed our journey with it… And this is the evolution of that. We thought if we could create a show that wasn’t really just about drama, but actually wholesome, made people laugh, show a true, real, raw journey…

‘The ups and downs, the lefts and the rights, we thought that it would be an interesting show, and so when Soph and I went into this, we said, “We’re going to be real”.

‘Most people, if they say, “Oh, we’re showing our true lives,” they’re not actually really showing their true lives. They’re probably holding back quite a lot.

‘This genuinely is showing everything because we were so used to having cameras there, and it’s nerve-wracking because people are always going to judge, people are going to have their opinions… but we were determined to show everything.’

Sophie agreed: ‘I’m a massive reality TV show fan, but I feel like over time some have become quite staged and produced. I personally miss the rawness of everything.

‘We just really went into it pretending the cameras weren’t there.’

Sophie also addressed pressures to ‘snap back’ following the birth of her son Ziggy, hitting back against ‘unrealistic’ expectations set on social media.

She explained: ‘I didn’t necessarily feel that pressure from the public. Weirdly, there’s more of a pressure on mums that you get judged either way.

‘If you haven’t snapped back, people are going to say something. If you have snapped back, people are going to say something.

‘I am actually finding that and I didn’t expect that. There are some people commenting on the snapping back saying it’s too soon and it’s not realistic.

‘I just don’t think you can please anyone… Whether you’ve snapped back or not, it just shouldn’t be a thing.

‘I feel stronger and I have much more respect for myself. I speak more kindly to myself. Ziggy’s my priority and I don’t put as much pressure on what I look like because my brain is thinking about him and it’s actually quite freeing and liberating.’

It was revealed last year that the couple, who wed in 2023, are bringing their journey to becoming parents to screens in a docuseries exploring everything from Sophie’s pregnancy to balancing their busy professional lives.

The series was commissioned by Sean Doyle, Executive Director, and is produced by Dorothy St Pictures in association with Jampot Productions.

It comes after Sophie told fans she was ‘grateful’ for husband Jamie as she gave a sweet glimpse into her life as a new mother, after her spouse sparked outrage with his ‘superwoman’ post.

The podcaster and the former Made In Chelsea star looked on cloud nine after welcoming their first child in early December, sharing snaps to social media.

Just weeks later, Sophie took her Instagram page with a slew of sweet pictures, captioning it ‘grateful’ as she gathered the best recent memories.

Meanwhile, on her Instagram Stories, the doting mother snapped her tiny tot without showing his face and added a blue heart emoji.

Sophie gushed over her beloved husband in her new social media post, also attaching some glamorous mirror selfies and outdoors analogue shots.

Elsewhere in the carousel, Jamie beamed from ear to ear as he was captured during a stroll out with some pals.

Sophie’s latest update comes after Jamie, 37, was criticised for a recent post that set ‘unrealistic expectations’ for new mothers

He had taken to social media last month to show off how Sophie had created a ‘magical Christmas‘ just three weeks after giving birth to their son Ziggy.

However, fans were quick to call out the post for being insensitive and a ‘typical IG moment’ only showing the best parts of the day.

He was flooded with replies from unhappy fans, with one writing: ‘I normally love your content, but this is an insensitive post and sets an unrealistic expectation/pressure on other new mothers. Not everyone has the money, resources and support to be able to do this.’;

‘In my opinion this is not normal and a typical IG moment. To, to me, this is sadly only about people pleasing and not prioritising healing and true connections.’;

‘My first Xmas when I was 3 weeks PP I slept most the day.’

Others questioned whether the couple had outside help from caterers or other paid professionals.

In Sophie’s recent post she looked every inch the doting mother as she cuddled Ziggy and looked chic in an all-black outfit.

Another saw her showing off her toned legs in white shorts and a pink shirt as she enjoyed her morning cup of coffee.

Other snaps in the album showed the sunset from their swanky new London home and a some delicious pastries.

Sophie also posted an adorable snap of Ziggy’s tiny feet as well as an image of Jamie playing Pac-Man.

Sophie and Jamie announced the birth of their son on December 4 with sweet hospital snaps.

Jamie could be seen with his arm around his wife as she cradled their newborn, while another showed Sophie holding the baby.

Days after Ziggy arrived, the couple checked into the UK’s leading postpartum wellness retreat.

The new parents took to Instagram with a snap after arriving at the £2k-a-night resort located within the five star Mandarin Oriental hotel in London’s Hyde Park.

Jamie and Sophie could be seen settling into their luxurious room, which sees Tenth Wellness provide 24-hour babysitters for mum and dad to relax.

The couple also enjoyed three Michelin star meals a day, as well as access to the hotel’s top of the range spa and beauty therapists.

Before Ziggy’s birth, Sophie had shared how she was not going to allow anyone to kiss her child.

Speaking on their Nearly Parents podcast, Sophie said: ‘No one’s f*****g kissing my baby. And I’m gonna say this on this podcast: If anyone comes and kisses my newborn baby, I will punch you in the face.’

Jamie laughed as Sophie added: ‘Please do not come near my baby and risk giving my baby germs.’

Pointing at Jamie, she continued: ‘And you were gonna be like to me “No, but that woman said that we should give them immune system, smother them with kisses, stranger”, and it just gives me sleepless nights.’

Laughing, Jamie replied: ‘No, I’m not gonna be like that. Honey, what I said was this, someone said you gotta let them get dirt, so I went, “Oh, so we’ll just take them into the garden and put mud on them”.’

Attempting to stifle a laugh, Sophie told the cameras: ‘Yeah, that’s what he genuinely said. “We’ll just like put the baby in with like the mud, and we don’t wash it off.” I was like, “probably not at newborn stage”.’

Raising Chelsea will be available to stream from April 2 on Disney+
