Private investors want to launch a football club entirely run by AI replicating likes of Sir Alex Ferguson

PRIVATE investors want to launch a football club that will be run entirely by AI.

That will include replicating the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson when it comes to doing team talks, picking the side, making subs and buying and selling players.

Pro clubs have already embraced the use of Artificial Intelligence to help with decisions — but the final say is still down to humans.

However, a group of mega-rich business leaders believe everything can  be done now with AI — bar replacing the actual players who turn out on the pitch.

And they may even do away with supporters!

The cutting-edge software will track form, fitness and even mental strength as it decides who will make the club’s starting XI each week.

And the team talks will come from a vast data bank of knowledge gleaned from great managers of the past.

Talking to SunSport, investors’ leader Gem Ini explained: “There is nothing that can’t be done with AI, apart from actually kicking the football.

“AI can give an inspiring team talk or half-time hairdryer in the style of Sir  Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola, so why would you need a human to do it?

“And transfer negotiations and contract renewals will be done entirely via a chatbot, based on an algorithm.

“It means that agents won’t be needed by clubs or players.”

Once the investors get the green light to launch the football club, they then plan to enter the English pyramid.

One stakeholder added: “We’ve seen the impact of AI on big business — and now we want to go big with football.

“And all humans involved in the Beautiful Game should be left in no doubt — this is the future. We accept that we will need people to play the actual matches but, after that, everything can be automated.

“It’s even debatable whether we will actually need supporters in the future. They can be a bit of an inconvenience.

“You have to provide all sorts of facilities for the public — like huge stands — which only adds to your overheads.

“And, if AI works as well as we think it will, we’ll be so successful we’ll be generating enough revenue without the need for income from supporters.”

The club would also use AI to come up with automated crowd chants at the ground — probably going on Chants GPT.
