Our NATO allies are butthurt because Trump didn’t clue them in on the when and where of our opening moves in Operation Epic Fury, and, to be honest, I can see both sides of the argument.
Trump didn’t want to tell them because success in the opening hours of the war was critical. Even a few minutes’ warning could have meant the difference between near-total decapitation, which we achieved, and the Iranian leadership escaping.
And let’s face it, somebody would have leaked it. Need to know exists for a reason, and none of these countries were going to participate, so none had a need to know.
On the European’s side, they are right that what the US is doing is hurting their economies. But that’s true with every war, and we have helped clean up after them in every European conflict, and we subsidized their welfare states to the tune of trillions of dollars over the past 100+ years.
🚨Trump: “The Country of France wouldn’t let planes headed to Israel, loaded up with military supplies, fly over French territory. It may be stupid for NATO countries to wash their hands of the Iran war, but that is their right. But Trump rightly believes that they have crossed a line by actively hindering our ability to conduct the war. First, there was Starmer denying us the ability to use airbases in England and his unwillingness to defend UK airbases that were under attack. He relented, but only due to domestic pressure, because he was in a snit.
Spain has been so friendly to Iran that the Iranians are putting stickers on their missiles and drones thanking Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Enough said.
Now, France is denying the use of its airspace to fly weapons to Israel. That’s basically entering the war on Iran’s side, inhibiting our and Israel’s ability to defend against attacks.
Israel has halted selling defense products to France as a result of France taking a hostile attitude toward Israel, three senior Israeli sources confirmed to The Jerusalem Post.

This crosses what should be a very clear red line. NATO is now actively impeding our ability to conduct this war, basically entering on the side of Iran, presumably because they want to appease the Iranian regime to get the oil flowing again.
TRUMP: *Go get your own oil!*

TRUMP: *Go get your own oil!*
All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.
You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated.
The hard part is done.
Go get your own oil!
President DJT
Seriously? When forced to choose between the Iranian regime, which has committed countless terrorist attacks on European soil and which has missiles that could be aimed at its capitals, NATO countries are going to choose Iran?
Apparently so. Mark Rutte must be going nuts right now, watching Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer, and Pedro Sánchez blow up NATO. Over a snit.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte just dropped MAJOR TRUTH NUKES on Europe, siding with Trump and saying they NEED America to survive
“If anyone thinks here that the European Union or Europe can defend itself without the US, KEEP ON DREAMING! YOU CAN’T! We can’t!”
“Europe — if you REALLY want to go it alone, and those of you who are planning for that, FORGET that you can ever get there with 5% [GDP for defense spending]. It will be 10%! You have to build up your own nuclear capability!”
“That costs billions and billions of euros. You will lose them. In that scenario, you would lose the ultimate guarantor of our freedom, which is the U.S. nuclear umbrella. So, hey, good luck!” 😭
Ed’s analysis of Trump and the Strait of Hormuz is dead on. We can’t afford to leave it closed, even though we don’t rely on oil from the region in the way Europe does. That would hurt us and empower Iran.
But Trump is right that we should remember how our allies are stabbing us in the back. The EU has been waging an economic and cultural war against the United States, and it has interfered in our elections in many ways far worse than Russia, China, or Iran (remember how Starmer sent campaign workers to help Kamala Harris, and how the EU tried to silence Donald Trump by threatening to fine Musk billions for interviewing him?).
It turns out interfering with elections is standard fare for the European Commission.
Ahead of at least EIGHT elections across six European countries since 2023, the Commission met with platforms to pressure them to censor political speech in the days before the vote. pic.twitter.com/e4Aqxc0hGA

NATO countries actively hampering our war effort is beyond the pale. We simply can’t be allies with countries that do this.
Trump is right to threaten them, even though it increases their butthurt. All these countries have been mumbling about building “strategic alliances” with China, which is our most powerful strategic competitor. Siding with China and Iran is about as big a betrayal as you can make at this critical moment.
🚨 SECRETARY RUBIO: If NATO is just about us defending Europe if they’re attacked, but them denying us basing rights when we need them, then that’s not a very good arrangement.
That’s a hard one to stay engaged in and say this is good for the United States. pic.twitter.com/C3IsTXQYnW

A breakdown in the trade relationship with Europe would not be good for us. We are all better off if trade is as free as possible.
But an asymmetric relationship where the US carries all the burden, gets regulated to death, and where Europe calls the shots is unacceptable.
So screw you guys, we’re going home.
