SPRING wedding invites are landing – and you may be fretting over what to wear.

TRY TAILORING: Charity shops are full of gems at the moment but if you can’t find quite the right fit, pick up the bigger sizes and alter them at home.
YouTube is packed with tutorials showing how to sew simple darts or take in a side seam. With a needle, thread and 20 minutes, you can turn something frumpy into the perfect fit.
THAT’S A WRAP: Head to a fabric shop and ask if they have any offcuts. Or pick a cheap fabric and ask for just one metre, usually under £10. Fold in half and use an iron and hemming web to seal the edges.
You will then have a bargain wrap to wear over dresses, that could cost you over £25 on the high street.

BAG SWAP: A cheap make-up bag makes a brilliant clutch for a special event. Look for quilted or patterned styles that could pass for designer — try Superdrug for pastel quilted bags for £4.
Or give an old handbag a new lease of life by swapping the strap with another bag, or wrapping it in a silk scarf you already have for a spring refresh.
WELL HEELED: Plain heels or sandals? Raid your jewellery box.
Pin old earrings through the front of the shoe or add a clip-on earring to the front of stilettos.
Or you could add a bow to a simple sandal strap to make it match your outfit.
You can also glue a brooch to a headband to create a stylish fascinator without buying new.
