
A GARAGE is thought to be selling the most expensive petrol in Britain as fuel prices surge following disruptions to the global oil supply.

The same BP forecourt was also flogging diesel at 194p per litre, just 1p less than the high the Sun found at a Kent fuel station, but still 8p more than the motorway service average of 183p. The UK-wide average is 181p.
It’s worth noting that service stations do tend to charge more than regular forecourts, but even the current unleaded service station average is 168p per litre – 15p less than the Exeter Services.
Both diesel and petrol prices are still forecast to rise, according to the RAC after their new figures show a big price disparity between petrol and diesel.
As Iran maintains control of the vital Strait of Hormuz, oil prices have soared and drivers have been warned of a “long-term” fuel shortage.
Fuel prices have increased rapidly since the start of the conflict and drivers across the UK are being hammered.
Foreign governments have cut taxes and introduced cost freezes in order to help motorists.
The Labour government has said that it will keep the 5p per litre cut to fuel duty until September this year.
This measure was introduced following Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine when fuel prices hit record highs of 199p per litre for diesel.

One way is to use the Government’s Fuel Finder.
This service shows you up to date fuel prices at every petrol station in the UK.
You can then compare the cost at different forecourts and find the cheapest one near you.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves has said the scheme could save a typical household around £40 a year.
To use it simply visit fuel-finder.uk and enter your postcode.
Meanwhile, check the RAC’s Fuel Watch for the latest petrol and diesel prices.
The RAC also tracks the cheapest supermarket petrol stations to buy fuel.
Speaking on the Today programme, Sir Howard Davies, former deputy governor of the Bank of England and chairman of NatWest, warned that the effective closure of the strait could cause a “long-term reduction” in fuel supplies to the West.
Sir Howard said that the Government must look at “reducing consumption” of fuel to ensure that essential services don’t grind to a halt.
