SCOTT Mills married his long-term partner Sam Vaughan in a sun-soaked ceremony in Spain in the summer of 2024.
On March 30, 2026, the news broke that the DJ had been axed by the BBC over reported allegations about his “personal conduct”.
The Beeb said: “While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC.”
As reported by the Mirror, Director of Music at the BBC, Lorna Clarke, confirmed the sacking in a statement to staff.
It read: “I wanted to personally let you know that Scott Mills has left the Breakfast show, and the BBC.
“I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock.
“Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programmes on R1, 5Live, R2 and TV.
“I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity.”
Who is Scott Mills’ partner Sam Vaughan?
There’s not much public information regarding Sam’s age, or where he was born.
He started off as a marketing coordinator for Global Radio in 2014.
Sam then went on to become a presenter across South Wales on local radio stations Bridge FM and Nation Hits.
From working with local stations he then became a national radio SPI executive, where he stayed for seven years before working as a brand manager.
As of March 2026, he has almost 27,000 followers on Instagram, where he regularly posts cute pictures of him and Scott with their dog, Ted.
Sam and Scott also manage an Insta account for their dog — Teddy the Cavapoo.
Engagement
Scott announced his engagement to Sam on October 25, 2021.
The Radio 1 DJ said in a tweet: “After 4 years together I’m delighted to say we got engaged at the weekend.
“As Sam knows, I always said I didn’t think I would ever get married. But then I met you Sam.
“You make me laugh every single day, you support me in so many ways and I adore everything about you.
“As soon as I met you I knew this could be something special and it is (after a slow start).
“We’ve had some amazing times, and I’m bursting with happiness to know we will have so many more. I love you with all my heart.”
Sam posted on Instagram: “The beginning of forever.
“On Saturday the love of my life asked me to marry him and of course I said yes!
“I’ve had the most amazing four years and can’t wait to continue our journey!”
He continued: “I never thought I’d find somebody who’s as obsessed with Sky News as me and I can’t wait to call him my husband!”
Marriage
On June 1, 2024, Scott said “I do” to the love of his life at a beautiful ceremony in Spain.
Dressed up to the nines in matching black tuxes, the couple looked blissfully happy throughout their big day.
Colourful smoke cannons were let off into the sky the moment they became husbands.
As Scott and Sam walked back down the aisle as a married couple, they were showered with confetti .
A host of friends, family and famous faces flew out to Barcelona to celebrate with them.
Rylan Clark, Sam Ryder, Zoe Ball, Chris Stark, Calvin Harris and his wife Vick Hope were among the celebrity guests at the bash.
Scott said of the day: ”We both had the most incredible day.
“To celebrate with all our close friends and family in Spain was so special.
“We are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.”
